GT owner's opinion wanted

I am writting to you as a v6 owner. I know, let the booing begin, but in all honesty its my first mustang and all I could afford and I still love the heck out of my car. I've grown up around mustangs so I always heard complaining about v6 owners and how they just wish they were one of the big boys, but i've always loved the look of the gt grille. I guess the whole point of this post is to ask for the gt owner's permission to get the gt grille upgrade on mine. I want that look for mine, not because i want to be a poser n say ive got a gt, but just because I love the look. But i don't want to be "that guy", so give your opinion. Do you think its a d-bag move for a v6 owner to get the grille with those extra sexy fog lights?

Dude, you don't need anyone's permission. If people needed permissions like that, would you see the ricers and posers doing what they do? Methinks not.

It's your Mustang. Screw everyone else, do what YOU WANT. We accept everyone, even (and for me, especially) the IIs.

And no, it's not d-bag to make your car, YOUR car.

My Awesome is MY Awesome. No one else's. Mine. She's unique in all the world, and I'm striving to keep her that way. The things I've done some don't like, and I honestly value their opinion... but could care less, because *I* love the mods I've done for her to make her special.

/And I'm hers, but I don't know if I'm worthy enough sometimes.
//Post pics when you get done, or even before!

Build your car the way you want. I like the GT grill also, been trying to figure a way to fit it in my Explorer.

It's YOUR car, do what you want. It, in my opinion, would be wrong to put 5.0 badges on perhaps, but there are some GT owners that actually prefer the look of the grill from the V6. Some like that "cleaner" look. Do what you like, you are the one making payments, just don't make it a "poser".
Otherwise just enjoy your car as we all do even with differing opinions on what looks best.

Cool I have one of each

Personally I like the V6 grill on my 2007.
I was going to get rid of my big ol' fogs on the '06 GT because they are too big for fog lights.
Instead I converted them driving lights that I can really use on the back roads.
Now I like them only because they are functional.
That's just me. I would keep your grill the way it is.
I love the way my V6 grill looks.

WTH?!? Seriously. Your car, your choice. Nothing poser about adding fog lights to your car. I'd avoid adding GT emblems, but everything else is fine IMO. Again, your car - to hell with what other people think.

Just don't put MY grill on your car. Get your own, lol. I like the look too, so enjoy. The V6s are good cars in their own right. The 2011 V6s have more Hp than my 2007 GT/CS. Make your car look like what you want it to.

I say go ahead and customize YOUR car the way YOU want... Like everyone else.

The only "d-bag" move is if you badge it w/ a Shelby or GT emblem and try to run anything that moves on the freeway....

It's your car do what you want with it. People say **** about me having cobra rims on my Gt but I could care less. It's my car not theirs. Honestly do what you want with your car. Simple as that

+1 to everything do whatever you please to your car if it makes you happy. An it doesn't matter that its a v6 I mean with gas at 4 a gallon I wouldn't mind one. With a little work an some patience your car could ultimately hold its own against gts. Just make sure you post pics of what you do. I painted my hoodscoop insert red on my bullitt thought it was the coolest (didn't last long its all murdered out now). When I posted a pic I got criticism yes but it wasn't bad or anything just people's opinions

What about the pony pkg grill? It still has fogs but was offered on the V6 from the factory.

I don't care either way, on the right car the GT grill looks great. For me I like the look of the Bullitt grill.

I just agree with what others have said. Don't use GT or Cobra badges or anything on a car unless that is what it is, other wise have a blast customizing it.

2 cents worth. Do it your way. I did mine MY way. went totally different. This is what I did to my 05 V6. when I traded her for my 07 GT, and got the Fogs, still wasnt happy, cause the dang Honeycomb was still there. Moving forward, trading that for my 09 Bullitt, was finally the cats meow.

Now having my 12, once again fogs and Honeycomb. Well lets just say, they are gone NEXT.

Bottom Line. DO IT YOUR WAY!!! (just no rebadging)
