Gas Mileage issue due to e85

I made a bone head mistake. I put e85 in my 14 v6 mustang and now I've lost about 8 miles per gallon on the highway. Is there any way to get my mpg back up?

Pure Gas if you will five the best MPG. You can get an app for your phone that shows you places with pure Gas. The more ethanol the worse the mileage. Problem is that E85 attracts allot of moisture. bad for cars that are not designed for it. Save the plant at a high cost. If you want your MPG up stop using the crap.

Should go back to normal once you put E10 or straight gasoline in it. It takes more E85 to burn the same amount of oxygen and results in worse fuel mileage.

The problem with "Pure" gas, there's rarely any detergents in it. All the places that are on toptiergas.com use Ethanol to some extent. I thought E85 will actually void the warranty on the fuel system but I might be wrong about that.

I've read a couple articles stating that the price of Ethanol is what is keeping Gas prices high at this point. It's surpassed the current prices for Oil.

OP, just refill it with whatever grade you have used in the past. After the E85 is gone, you should be back to normal.

I tried the pure gas test. Gained approx. 1.2 mpgs. Problem is at 40 cents more a gallon in my area doesn't make it worth the change.

First you can not get Pure Gas. I meant to say Non E Gas. They sell it and there is an app for you phone to find it.

On my Suburban I get 3 to 4 more per gallon. I wish they never went to this Crap.

I agree Jazzman. I just don't think we should put food products in our gasoline. People need food, not cars.
