Ford Sync

I've had my car a month now and the sync although a great idea is very temperamental. My wife's 2013 edge has the same thing fitted and it works fine.
Mine appears to crash or take an extremely long time to load whey of switch the car on. Sometimes having to stop the car turn it off and restart... Typical Microsoft right!

Any one else have the same problem?

Thanks.

I mostly use it to make phone calls. What are you using it for?

Also, there was an upgrade on the software. I would think being your car is only a month old that you have the latest version.

I haven't had much time to study mine yet but it does seem a bit quirky. I'm trying to get Pandora to play and I'm not sure how to get it on the speakers.

Press the voice button. Say "mobile apps", then when prompted say "pandora"

Thanks for the advice I will give it a try. I think over all I'm just not saying the correct prompts and then I get frustrated.

Hi, scott.mca -

I'd like to look into the concern you're experiencing. When the system takes a long time to load, are you trying to use the phone, navigation, or an MP3 device? PM me the details and your VIN; I'll try to get to the bottom of it.

Mine is quirky with my phone connected via USB, but plays via Bluetooth flawlessly (when connected).

Which application(s) are you trying to use and what type of phone do you have, ZipZap04?

Hey, wheelman -

Are you referring to AppLink or streaming music?

Applink only works via USB cable on an iPHone .. you cannot use BlueTooth with Applink on iPhone.

However .. I could not get iHeartRadio to work on my iPHone either. Pandora and NPR news works fine .. but Sync cannot find iHeartRadio app even though iPHone is plugged in via USB and the iHeartradio app is running.

dmhines is right, ZipZap04. In order to use AppLink with an iPhone, you must be connected via USB. Here's a link for how to access mobile apps using AppLink:

Thanks for the info, dmhines! In regards to iHeartRadio, did this occur prior to the installation of iOS 6?

I'm thinking I was running IOS 5 at the time. Not 100% sure though. I think the only thing that I have tried since running IOS 6 was Text Messages .. and text messages sorta works .. but has several issues. I also have not tried yet with an iPhone 5 ...

Now that you're running iOS 6, dmhines, give iHeartRadio another try and let me know what happens. In the meantime, I'm going to further investigate.
