Ford Mustang - Made in China?
I was looking over the engine when I noticed Chinese characters on the T-stat housing. Ford must have switched to a Chinese supplier for the t-stat housings because I bought a 2005 Crown Vic housing for my 00 Vic and the box said "Made in Korea", but it had the same Chinese quality-control ink stampings as the one in the pic.
I guess Ford is really serious about cutting costs...

Here's a rear speaker (part of Shaker 500 system) that's made in China.
Also notice the unmotivated painting technique... On my 2000 Crown Vic, the inside of the trunk was painted with a lot more paint. I have noticed a lot of sparse/rushed painting on the Mustang GT. It's a shame because Vista blue is so beautiful. They should use more of it on the car!

I think that's just overspray from when the body shell was being painted. Probably Ford trying to save on costs since nobody really looks under there - almost nobody. Question - do other vehicles have that area painted completely?

Since the Mustang is "made" by Mazda, has Chinese writing on the factory parts, and uses VTEC technology (VCT), does that mean the Mustangs are "ricers"?
The good news is that the AALA parts content label for my GT still shows 70% domestic (US/CAN) parts. The other 30% must be Mexico, China, India and Korea.

Yeah I can understand that, I feel the same way. But think of how the poor chinese workers must feel making parts for a car they could never afford or own. Kind of like an average american blue coller worker making Ferrari parts for a super car he could never own.
