Ford Build letter-Dissapointing
Ford Build letter-Dissapointing
I'm just ranting a little..
I went to the ford website-shopfordgear.com..and ordered the "deluxe build sheet" for $46!
It never showed up, and my first inquiry I was told it had shipped a month earlier, but they sent it US mail rather than UPS or FEDEX so there was no tracking. After a week or so of back and forth I was told that it was never produced due to a VIN mismatch-even though they marked it shipped and closed my order, After straightning out the VIN issue, I got my deluxe build sheet.
The sheet came in a standard letter envelope, folded, creased, and of course wrinkled corners from the automated postal handling. I was hoping for $46! they would send it in an 8.5x11 envelope backed with cardboard suitable for frame or something! The info on the sheet is basic...tells me my vin and options, and the total number of v6 coupes, total number of MCA editions produced and total number of Grabber Blue coupes. It does not say any detail like "one of xx MCA Grabber Blue", or any great detail like that...
So..I give it a 2 on a scale of 1-10!

I got one for my wife's Grabber Blue 2011 MCA coupe over 2 years ago from FordShowParts.com for only $38.25 shipped after an MCA discount. Below is a photo of everything I received, shipped via UPS and a sturdy UPS Express envelope, and a tucked between two pieces of cardboard, just like you expected. I doubt that you could've ordered from the same place.
Included was a Certificate which certifies that VIN .... is a limited-edition, 2011 MCA Edition Ford Mustang assembled at Auto Alliance International on 01/07/2011. That this vehicle is #1964 of a build of 2023 and is #87 of 87 manufactured in Grabber Blue. Also included was a printed sheet detailing total production for the 2011 MCA Edition, including number of units built by color, body type, Trim and Options. For instance ours in 1 of 25 grabber blues with HID headlamps. Plus there is a 2011/2012 MCA Edition Mustang VIN Decoder sheet.

I went to the ford perforance website-I forget the exact link..and ordered the "deluxe build sheet" for $46!

Sorry you weren't happy with the " sheet " you ordered. When you talked to them on the phone, ( they call prior to building the sheet ), did you indicate what info you expected to see in the letter ?
What I got was exactly what I was looking for, a MY breakdown by VIN & color.
The package posted earlier in this thread, ( post # 2 ), looked nice, but gave so much info in the spreadsheet, you couldn't break down all the different options to get a real result.
If I were you, I would have them redo the sheet to your satisfaction, you paid for it !!

How is there too much info provided on one page? Really, the only thing you can't determine from it, is say how many builds for a given set of options. For instance we ordered our Grabber Blue MCA coupe with 6-spd Auto, Security Pkg, 3.31 Rear Axle, HID Headlamps, and Comfort Pkg. I just don't know how many other were built with the same options. I just know that it's less than 25, because that's the number of Grabber Blue coupes and convertibles built with HID Headlamps.

I recommend you contact them, and see what can be done.
This is the best deal for the MCAs, guys. You can see what it includes in the description.
