Brad,

I think you are forgetting that not everyone on this board owns a Mustang...Everyone on this board wishes they had a Mustang, but not everyone owns one..

Like me, I answered, I had never done the 1/4 mile..If i had the Mustang, i'd live at the IRP which is about 5 miles from my house....

IRP being Indianapolis Raceway Park

Poll states 1/4 mile, so I answered 0. I have run the 1/8 a few times.

As with all polls, it's all in "how you ask the question".

I prefer Open Track to dragracing. Anyone who's done Open Track is hooked. The Mustang is such a great platform for Open Track, that it drives me nuts to see Mustang Hotrods setup to go in a straight line. The twisties rule.

I would say that my old blue car was easlily in the 200's. I had it at the track the Friday after I bought it. Ran the dog pee out of it.

Took my 02 GT to the track once. I believe my best time was 19.3. Yep, I was impressed as well. However, I did beat some guy in a 2001 True Blue GT convertible.

But Hau Thai-Tang's concern isn't with guys that drag race 30-year old Mustangs; he's concerned with how to build the '05. I don't think he should be concerned with how drag racers will feel about this car in 30 years; he needs to cater to the masses now, and the masses buy Mustangs for a daily commuter.
Like it or not guys it is the V6 Mustang that has kept the car alive for 40 years and the V6 sales of the future WILL determine weather the Mustang survives or not.

Just the way it is B)

The local car club has rented Norwalk Raceway twice and I've gone each time and also went on a Friday when everyone and their mom were there.

I'd say almost 30 times overall... Haven't kept track. Fastest time was 16.154.. I know slooooooooow, but I have no engine mods and it was just fun beating my car up.

We also switched cars there too.

Over 100 in my life time. Zero in the last few years. Road racing a mustang gives you more track time.
