Coyote swap

Hey y'all I'm trying to do a coyote motor and tranny swap in my 87 lx and I was wondering if I had to change out my whole rear end? If any of has an tips or pointers on a swap like this it would be much appreciated.

If your 87 was a 5.0 originally it should have an 8.8" rear same as the current. Now I'm not sure if the axles and splines in 87 are up to the new power. But you will need a driveshaft for sure. Probably custom unless someone is now selling a conversion driveshaft.

What are you doing for a transmission?

Oh ok thank you for the info and well my suspension is already stiff enough to hold it and I have splines already and everything and for the transmission I was just going to do a stock six speed that goes with the coyote motor and I think there is a conversion kit with the driveshaft in it

Do you have the motor already? I was going to do this swap myself. I was able to get a long block from Ford. But never found a car to put it in. So I am looking to sell the motor. If your intrestead please lets me know.

I will keep you all posted! Idk how long it will take me because I'm only a teenager so I'm saving up every single penny. And I don't have the motor yet I'm still saving up for it. How much are you selling it for? And how much did it cost you with both the motor and trans?
