Well, my first nomination is me. But if I can't be Detective Lieutenant Frank Bullitt, I think Anthony Michael Hall would make a good one.

I brought something up about this a long time ago. I know the guy who made "Troy" had the remake in the works and had been trying to get Brad Pitt to do it. I know there is something on Movies.com if you go to the search engine and type in Bullitt.
BTW, those pictures of Anthony Michael Hall actually make me think you could be on to something. The only thing is I don't think it would be good if the movie was trying to make money.

My buddy Matt would love that, he gets mistaken for Anthony Michael Hall all the time. Two weekends ago he was in town and we went to a bar. These guys kept staring and pointing at him. Finally he asked if they wanted something. They asked if he was that guy, he laughed and said "No, I'm not Anthony Michael Hall from The Breakfast Club"

Hard to quote a line from Bullitt with that on your head.
I see the following:
I would like to see other suggestions on who should play the part.
I think Pitt would be okay, maybe Russell Crowe. Not Leonardo, Not Nick Cage.

easy because I'm tired of nicholas cage..he's extremely over exposed and I don't really think he's that good at anything anyway.
These are just my opinions of course

Doug, you and your mind reading powers.....kinda freaking me out.
Besides, him driving one Mustang was enough. Someone elses turn.
I don't like Sean Penn but he might fit.

Anthony Michael Hall does bear a resemblance to McQeen but I think he's too young. Matt Damon is too soft. My vote goes to Nicholas Cage.

Matt Damon was pretty hard edge in the Bourne Supremacy. What I liked about Steve Mcqueen is that he was unpretentious a bit humble you might say, I believe Matt Damon share those qualities.

theres this one guy i know, his name is Arin Singh, i think he'd make one helluva good Detective Lieutenant Frank Bullitt. i mean, he's got the looks, the skills, and got darn it, people love him!
i hear he does his own stunts too. and he looks sooooo natural behind the wheel of a mustang. im sure thousands of ricer/mopar/chevy fans would switch over to ford, at the mere sight of him driving a '68 GT390 fastback.
*sigh* what a guy...
