Brand New 2013 GT/CS! What's right?

Hello everyone, I just opened my account here and hopefully I will use it a lot.
I just left the dealership after fighting price almost the entire afternoon, this is what they offer:

Sticker price with delivery: $39,580, this is an automatic with Shaker pro (sub woofer), either RED or White.

They said they can give me 32,990 + taxes and fees. If give them my trade in (4,500 is what they offer), dealer said he could make it 31,990.

I won't give my current car for that super low number (4,500 vs 6,750 BBK good trade-in) so I won't get those extra $1,000.

Only thing I don't like is that on top of those $32,990 they will charge me $750 for a Lo-Jack they installed as a dealer accesory (they told me in that way their insurance is lower so they could do better prices)

So I'm looking at $33,740 0n a car with a sticker of $39,580...what do you guys think? Witha a 10% for taxes, license and fees I'm looking at $37,090.....I'm planning on putting 17,090 down and finacing $20K either with their financing or my credit union....Have no other choice but to sell my car on my own....

Please comment on the deal and which color option will trend better Read or White.

Don't do that. Instead just drop $50 for a Mustang Club of America membership. That will allow you to get X-Plan pricing which is right around invoice. I was looking at a 2013 Mustang C/S (Automatic) with Electronics and a few other add-ons and MSRP was $41,000. With X-Plan, I would pay just $36,000. There i no need for haggling and the dealership is not allowed to force anything else on you. Check it out....

Well since we don't know what your trade in is, it puts us in a difficult position to work numbers with you.

But, KBB is not always the true number to go by. Run the numbers from Edmunds, KBB then NADA and take an average...and the number may come close...or not.

Figure the difference between what was offered and the KBB number and you are $2250 apart. Add in the trade in assistance offer from Ford ($1000) and now you are only $1250 apart. Figure the tax savings by trading in your car and you save taxes since you only pay taxes on the sales difference (in most states). So lets say you are now only $1000 apart. Work the dealer for the difference, and then you don't have to sale your trade your self unless you think the car will bring such an amount to justify your time to show and advertise your car. Not to mention put up with the nuts that will try their best to get to your wallet also.

lmarcanov, sorry, can't follow your problem properly to comment but I will state that the Lojack is a total dealer rip-off, and the color is just a personal preference for you, not us. You are the one that has to live with the payments. Make sure you get exactly what you want. Lots of Ford dealers out there. Don't settle for anything, especially that Lojack system unless you specifically want it.

Agree with the other replies. Get the x-plan and also request a brochure to get an extra $750 off. In NY I always consider the tax savings of trading in the your old car if the deal is right. As far as color, I'd go with white. I think there's like a ruby red which I like better than race red. Good luck!

Color you will have to choose to be truly happy. the deal seems like a good one. I paid about 38K for my 2012 GTCS fully loaded. I put another 10K into it since. I would say your getting a fair deal.
