Blown Away !
Not in my mustang though
I just returned from the Florida Keys in my Motor Home. As recently becoming a Stang Vert owner I started taking notice of all the Verts down there. I could not believe how many I saw, probably 30 a day with only one a day being a fast back. I know its a great area for Verts but everyone you see.
Just wanted to share as i was amazed.

Take a trip to Hawaii. The rental lots are lousy with them. Summertime around here you can be certain that if its late model/6 cyl/being driven by a male of (a certain) age and accompanied by a female of similar age-it came from Hertz or Enterprise. (Older guy and much younger gal-Jaguar/MBZ/BMW. Just an observation, not a comment.)

We just returned from our trip to the Keys this past week. We took our Trans Am 'vert and we also saw endless rental Mustangs. Just everywhere! Every one with a June decal on the tag (that's the rental car time for registrations in FL). Quite a lucrative deal for the rental companies. I tell you what, it was indeed heaven driving 'topless' in near 80 degree weather. Here is a link to our trip and photos if you can stomach a GM car.

It was renting a Mustang convertible in Hawaii in November 2012 that prompted me to order mine. I had a Honda S2000 at the time and was pleasantly surprised to learn that I could have fun and be comfortable at the same time.

Renting is an excellent way to decide if a car is right for you. Just a weekly rental for a few hundred dollars may save you thousands later if you find quirks in the rental that you just don't like, from seating position to performance. If you still love it after a week, then it's the right choice.
We had the misfortune of being in CA on a vacation in 2001 during 9/11. We had to drive our rental '01 Camaro convertible all the way back to FL because the airlines were not flying. After 3,000 miles plus the vacation time we did have, I knew an F-body was in my future. The Trans Am convertible soon followed. Still have it 13 years later.

5 years ago, that was us in a Red Mustang V6 Convertable. We visited the keys after taking a cruise. Renting was a great way for me to decide that I would miss having a V8, and that the convertible wouldn't really be practical here in the NW.

Two words.... Sun Screen.
Made that mistake driving from Columbia, SC to Columbus, GA. I rode all the way to Atlanta before I put the top up. My wife had a nice white stripe across her front from the seat belt. The rest was a nice shade of red. LOL

I'm north of you (near Tacoma) and I find that a convertible works just fine in the NW. There are enough nice days that I would really miss being able to put the top down.
You got that right. I discovered Banana Boat Body and Scalp when looking for a sun screen for my scalp. I still have hair, but it is thin enough that I need protection and can't go all day with a hat on. It gives me a headache. The Banana Boat stuff is a liquid in a plunger spray bottle and works so well I've used it on scalp, ears and neck, arms, and tops of legs and driven for hours with the top down.

I'm heading up to NC for my honeymoon in a couple months. Can't wait to drive the mountains.
Yes I'm taking my 3.7L on my honeymoon.

Yes sir, I made the mistake of not wearing a hat or sunblock, while watching a Daytona race in July. When I got home a few days later I was pulling skin off like a snake shedding his skin.
