I heard that Bill Ford, CEO of Ford is not going to take a salary until the company is in a better position. COnsidering last year he made over 22m in bonuses and options, this will help.

I think more CEOs should step up to the plate and do what is best for the company.

This move shows that Bill cares about the company. Granted it does bear his name, but it is it's own 'monster' for lack of a better word.

While they don't need to refuse all pay, they should accept a reasonable salary, instead of 20m, how about 1/2 a mill which should cover all their expenses (unless they spend like druggies).

WHile I believe that all CEOs and execs should make much less than they already do, I'm glad to see that Bill Ford sees that it is not necessary also.

A couple years ago, my husbands CEO did something similar.. instead of laying off a ton of people, he took a DRASTIC pay cut... he only makes about 100k/year. Course, he is one of the richest men in the country, but it was a terrific moral booster to the company. (yes, they are a Fortune 500 company, large corporation)

Just think where this country might be if more CEO's did that sort of thing. "For the good of the company and its employees." They should teach that in college.

100,000 a year? Thats not much money to be the richest man in the country. UIts also kind of low for a CEO. Atleast for Chattanooga, TN it is. Did you mean he cut his pay to 100K?

 

Thats was pretty proffesional to do that and smart as well. It surprizes me that Ford is having financial problems because IMO they have some nise cars/trucks/SUV's. However, I think the focus has got to go like yesterday. The concern I have is the T-Bird. What another legend that I really wonder how they are going to bring that car back. IMO they ruined that car. They took a big chance by redesigning it with the retro look like the Stang and it obviously didnt work for the T-Bird. So what design do they use now? What body could they use to bring the T-Bird back? They also overpriced that car. 40-45 grand...paaalease. I could go get a boxter for that money. The other thing is that someone that could afford 45 grand is going to walk over to chevy and get a vette for another 10 grand.

I think their other problem is they are going to have get on their dealerships and make them more proffesional. In addition, this 4-6 month wait is crazy. They should have known that this car was going to be wanted like crazy and have been prepared to deliver. Crazy Mustang fans like us are insane enough to wait 4-6 months but your average joe which is 7-10 is going to laugh and go with another sports car from another dealer.
