Abs light and traction control light on?

I was driving home from work and all of the sudden, my abs light and traction control light came on and they won't turn off, any ideas on what this issue might be?

since no one else has replied, this seems to be a recurring issue with various causes.

what year is your mustang ? If they remain on after turning off your car and restarting you may need to have a mechanic look at it.

My own experience was with a ford mini van. the traction light kept coming on, which meant the system was shut off. In my case, after much back and forth it was a connection that was getting wet. It was located under the Brake booster. Eventually the unit being plugged in had to be replaced.

check the forum string on warranty issues, or do a search.

That's all I can offer right now.

No need to worry about the traction control light, traction control works off the ABS system. No ABS=no traction control. You need to have the codes pulled to see what your problem is

Was your problem diagnosed/fixed? The same just happened on my son's 06 S197 yesterday. The lights went out upon restarting the car, however, they came back on after driving it a few miles.

Have an 04 Cobra and the trac off light stay light up as well. I can hold the brake and hold the button and feel in the brake pedal when it turns on and off. Emailed the previous owner and he he said "Oh yea... It has a custom tune in it. And I turned it off with the tuner." I almost spent money I didn't need to, to get this fixed. Set it back to factory setting and it solved the problem for me.
Wish your was this easy to fix. And I hope it is just a tire or speed sensor that needs to be cleaned. Good luck...

I do believe you may have a bad wheel hub which is why you have the ABS light to stay on. Either that, or your ABS may need some service.
Take it to your local AutoZone or Auto Palace. They can plug into the OBD and tell you the code, if it throwing a code, and I assume it will be. Then, do a Google search for your car, year and code to have an idea what it is before going to the stealership.
GOOD LUCK!
