65 fastback

I bought a 65 Fastback 2+2 w/pony interior that is blue/biege, it also has the cluster gauges. I know the history because a friend owned it from 1971 and they have not changed out anything in it. The door VIN matches the title but the fender # does not match. The VIN # does not have a color either. the vin on the door is as follows: 63A D6 250 5102Z0 6 5 5R09C202360 It came out of Denver. The fender is : 5F09C689425 I am needing more information because I am wanting to restore it back to original.
Should I be worried about making it original or just do what I want?
Thanks for your help,

does the engine numbers match? if the block isnt original, then do what you want.. if it is the original motor, then restore it to factory condition.
