4 speed automatic issue ( help )

I Have a 87 GT with a 91 motor and 4 speed automatic, as far as I know the guy I bought it from says it has a shift kit installed. It is fine thru 2 gears but third drops off quick and 4th starts to bog the motor down, I can't figure out why I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this before, thanks.

Your aren't lying, that's my next option. Wanted to go with a b&m sport shifter in order to go around having to wire up the clutch and all but I'm definitely considering the 5 speed.

I would check the vacuum modulator valve (think that's what its called)
When they go out they cause premature shifting.

That's a mention that was made by a mech I brought it too ... I got sick of dealing with it and brought it to him he's looked over it and said the whole cars wiring isnt the best, so im sure it's a computer issue. Hopefully thats the fix. I'm not an automatic fan but I really don't wanna go thru a 5 speed overhaul.

With the right tools, all the parts, and some green backs you can do a 5 speed convet in a day

Your correct. I'd rather just find a similar shell with it already intact, front end and wiring on mine is bad anyways.
