Question 2014 and half Mustang ?

Is it right for Ford to produce a 2014 and half Anniversary Mustang ? Is it okay to produce it in limited numbers ?

I think Ford can do pretty much what they want to.

Hey Larry, what if they made it a 2014.5 Boss 302?

I do not think the 2014.5 anniversary addition should be a limited production model. The 50th anniverary is a pretty big deal. As a result, everyone shoud have an opportunity to buy one. It would be nice to have a Boss produced, but I dont she a reason for a Boss to be an anniversary edition. An anniversary edition would have to be unique and available to everyone.

Ford will do what brings them money and they should. That may mean limited production of a 2014 1/2 to increase the hype of the 2015 or they may just push out as many as they can build thinking we will all buy them and store them for the future generations. If they do this at the end of the 2014 run you can buy it and wish you had waited for the new platform but if they are going to do an early release of the 2015 model you will be a Beta tester so expect bugs. So many decisions. This 2014 1/2 is fun to think about but do you want to be the first on your block to be the test rat? I'm just curious to see this new platform arrive.

I think you should just get a limited production car and then see how you feel about them.

First I am brand new to this forum as well as to mustang and ford so I apologize for any ignorance as i try to get educated, so go easy on me ... I have read a few things about this 2014 1/2 car, how does it get that classification and why is it a concern? I just placed an order for my mustang and on my order form is 2014 mustang. What if any concerns should I have or does this year talk have nothing to do with mine all together. Thanks!

There are about 3 thread discussing the '14.5 now, but it looks like FCS may have jumped the gun.

Okay, we made a mistake. We misunderstood the information and we're sorry for causing all this confusion:

Technically, there was never a 1964 ½ MY. All production units for the 1965 MY were VIN coded for 1965, including the original production units. Any model year can have minor changes with each mid-model year production job update (I’m sure all of you knew this info already, LOL).

I’m still on the edge of my seat along with you guys to see what’s in store and for when.

I know this… 2014 MY production will begin in the first quarter of 2013 and all 2014 MY units will be 2014.

Karenkee, it is great to hear you are getting a 2014 Mustang. I am sure you will greatly enjoy it. I am planning on getting a 2014 Shelby GT500 myself. If Ford does produce an anniversary Mustang, you may not be able to custom order one. If you are like me , you custom ordered your Mustang. As far as I am concerned, the anniversary Mustang would have to be powerful enough to turn the Earth a quarter of a turn before I would probably buy one. Enjoy your 2014.

Cool

Karenkee, it is too early to get jealous. I am just in the initial stages of getting my financial situation right so I can put down a deposit. The choice of color is going to be difficult for me. I want competition orange with black stripes, but that is not an option. I would consider race red with black stripes.
