Just wondering when you buy a new mustang how many keys and remotes do you get?

The reason I ask is because when we bought my wife's car used it only came with one key and remote. I ended up paying close to $100 to get 2 new keys make and programmed.

Are the new mustangs set up the same way as the old ones where if you have 2 keys already programmed you can program more keys yourself?

 

remotes are in the key fob. I got 2 and yes you can order blank keys and have your dealer make you additional keys that work from what I understand.

Thanks. Those keys look expensive if you lose one.

 

The sales guy told me, not to lose the little paper with the code on it that comes on the keys. He said if I lost both my keys, they could use that code to make me a new one, or maybe it was my remote start. Idk, was anybody else told that?!?
