2014 3.7 weird tick/rattle ....

Ok im new to the forum...
But a mustang vet. This is my 7th mustang for me, 1st truly new car.
But it now has 1700miles an when driving I can hear this weird noise.
It does come from the engine area.
Sounds metallic I want to say almost lifter noise. But I ONLY hear it when driving. . Normally more so in 1st-3rd.
I have tried to idle the engine while parked to try an pinpoint it but no luck.
It isnt the driveshaft clunk or vibration I know that.
I wanted to check here an see if anyone has had similar issues. If so what to look at.
I am taking it to the dealer this week an dont want to get the usual " oh its normal.. but if it gets worse bring it back" .

It could be the injectors you hear that will sound like a ticking noise. Both of my 5.0's have notorious injector ticking. And, my previous 3.7L F-150 had it also. It will increase in volume when you're running through the gears, and should quite some when cruising. It is normal. I hope that's what you're hearing, and nothing serious. But for your piece of mind, do stop by the dealer to have it checked. Good luck.

No similar noise from my '13 V6. It certainly could be an injector but it would be worth having the dealer check it out.

the DI injectors make the new ford motors sound a little like a diesel.

Welcome to the forum, dwilder14! I hope you’re enjoying your stay with these awesome members.

If you feel this noise is getting worse, or are still unsure, I recommend you check in with your Ford Dealer. I’m here for you if you need me. Enjoy your ride!

It has developed since, but I do have a appointment to drop off at my dealer I bought the car at .
They're planning to keep it for a week or so an give me a loaner.

Sorry for taking so long to give you any updates, had a lot going on.
But anyways Ford dealer says...
They ran the cpu, checked for any tsb's, an had the tech take it an check it out. Nothing found. But if it gets louder bring it back.
Im sorry but this doesnt make any sense. I bought the car an it was as quiet as could be, besides the exhaust note.
But this rattle/tick developed an I can hear it plain as day. Hell my wife heard it an she isnt mechanically inclined at all. Idk not sure what to do really. Just expected they would have some kind of anwer.

Thank you for the update, dwilder14. You are always welcome to bring it to a different Ford Dealer for diagnosis. Sometimes a different set of eyes/ears can help.

It could be the injectors, especially if the sound deadening has shifted allowing more sound to escape. I can't really hear them with the hod shut, but it's pretty apparent with it open.

Just a thought but is it possible that my flywheel or throwout is making the noise?
After I got to thinking about it.. I had a 97 that had a throwout chatter.
This is a similar sound... louder but similar.
An only present while driving... getting 3000rpms or so.
