go to dealership
trade in base model car for gt or gt500
unlock door
sit in drivers seat
close door
insert key into ignition
start car
put in gear

ok here's the thing....... I'm not like "one of those people"

I've had base model cars..

New Beetle Convertible with the 2.0
Acura Integra with the regular 1.8
Chevy Lumina 3.1

These were commuter cars, they were.... alot more disposable and far from being ideal to "race" than...

I just don't get the "hey I'm going to go out of my way with my base model car to race it"

I get that everyone wants to get in on the action, and most people want a "faster car"

I get that the GT500 makes them go "why the heck race the GT" but like... c'mon... you purposely bought the base model. I get making it look better, and you might want to soup it up, but in this case you're engine disadvantaged. To a GT500, I'm supercharger disadvantaged.

as for the v6 aspect... I had a Grand Prix GTP. I loved it, I did race it and I modded it.

However.... It was blown. It had a platform that was easily moddable and it was the best case scenario of what you could get.

 

what kind of racing? Drag strip, track, AutoX?
