2012 rear spoiler

General question is the 2012 v6 rear spoiler just a small spoiler and the 2012 GT spoiler a pedestal one?. i ordered a 2012 v6 and the window sticker just became viewable online,it states for a GT rear spoiler which i hope is a pedestal type ( which is what i want). but i thought the salesman told me i would have to order one after i get the car and make a switch.

My understanding is that the pedestal spoiler only comes on the GT/CS cars and the 5.0 optional GT packages. So it will need to be changed out after you get the car. My dealer is going to give me a quote for it painted and installed tomorrow when I finish the paperwork on my new 2011.

Right. To my knowledge, adding a pedestal spoiler to a 2012 V6 would be no different than adding one to a 2011. You need to add it after delivery. Below is my wife's 2011 V6 MCA with its new Pedestal Spoiler(part# AR3Z-634421-CA), Diffuser(part# AR3Z-17F828-AA) and Magnaflow Street Series Axleback(part# 15595). I installed everything myself, including the the pedestal spoiler. And if you're curious, the spoiler cost me $289 and $135 to paint, the diffuser cost $129, both purchased locally, and the axleback cost me $450 shipped.

The spoiler that comes on a 2012 V6 Pony Package should look similar to the one below that I removed, which is the same "base spoiler" that comes installed from the factory on premium GT or regular Boss 302.

That clears it up Thanks.

Your car looks really good with that spoiler. My dealer practically gave away the car, but wanted $700+ for the spoiler painted and installed. How hard was the install? Were the templates that come with the spoiler useful? I'm a little bit scared of drilling the two extra sets of holes.

Thanks. The blackout is part of the optional Mustang Club of America (MCA) Package, which is the same as the blackout that comes on a GT/CS or Boss 302.

Thank you. Even though I've installed a couple GT500 style spoiler, most recently on my 08 SGT, installing this pedestal spoiler took me 4 hours. The template you get with the Ford accessories spoiler made it easy locating where to drill the extra holes down from the top, but drilling the larger openings for the same holes from the bottom was the scariest part. You just need to take your time with all measurements before drilling is all I can reccommend. If you're still fearful, maybe you shouldn't. I wouldn't trust anyone but myself.
