This thread has nothing to do with V8's.. Although, it has nothing to do with the Genesis either. I just like poking the V6 hornets nest.

Camaro's are horrible imo as far as driving but there are some really nice looking ones around. I love my Mustang. Lol to the guy who suggested the Gensis (rice rocket). There is always going to be a better car out there, but this isn't it. The V6 Mustang is the best value for power, styling and ease of modding in the V6 class imo. I paid 27K for my premium V6 with every option but nav & perf. pack. Even after I get a full suspension and power mods I will still be less than 33k.

What do you drive? If you have a mustang, why not have bought the genesis, since it's so much better than our v6's.

Lol
You love to poke fun at those little v6s from my observation. Lets just pray the GT 500 owners don't poke the GT nest.

I can't comment on the V6 versions of either car but I test drove both V8 versions before deciding to go with the Mustang. I to am a diehard GM guy and have not owned a Ford until now since 1987 when I sold the 72 Ford LTD that was my first car. All GM after that.

I never have grown to really like the Camaro's look so that was one negative. To me, the interior feels closed in and the blind spots were bad for me. The car rode nice and had good power so that was a plus. I was planning on buying new so the price of the Camaro was quite a bit more than than a similar equipped Mustang, even with my GM card rebate money.

So far I have not regretted buying the Mustang over the Camaro or Challenger. I would have picked the Challenger over the Mustang and Camaro just on looks alone but I couldn't find the car I wanted so I decided on the Mustang instead.

You have to live with whatever car you decide on so drive both and really look at both and see which one you want to live with on a daily basis.

Yea.. I don't think you are getting my point here. You have a car that was built for 8 little pistons reciprocating in a violent manner. Adding the 6 was Fords way of appealing to everyone else who couldn't afford the GT or who didn't really need the power of a GT. Don't get me wrong. I've seen a few NICE V6s running around town. I just think if you are dead set on buying a sports car with a sixxer then a Mustang or Camaro forum isn't where you are going to find a good answer.

I currently drive a '11 California. The Genesis was a car optimized for use with a powerful 6. Which is why it is so much more enlightening to drive than a V6 Mustang.

I USED to own both for the better part of a year. Until I had a new baby and traveling with two large Boxers and an infant wasn't too feasible owning two sports cars. I almost traded in the Mustang because I loved the Genesis so much but the intoxicating power of the 5.0 was the only thing that saved it. Fit and finish on my Genesis was way better. I had Nav, Track Package, Torsen Diff, Brembos, heated seats, leather, etc... Every option.. and I only paid a little under 30k for it. Plus I didn't see a Genesis every time I went to the store or to work.

I don't mean any harm. If the GT500 guys come in... then the Super Snake guys will.. then the F-GT guys will...

Agreed. Although, if you have a fully optioned out V6 with PP you'll be in GT territory in terms of price.

You realize your comparing a base v6 mustang with a wheel package to the best Hyundai and Nissan has to offer(aside from the GTR)??

I think it fares pretty well, I will admit I like the pre-13 genesis, but much like the 370z and fr-s/br-z, I don't see any value in them from a performance stand point at their respective price points. 30k+

I didn't say anything about a base V6. I was directly comparing a fully optioned out V6 with PP to Hyundai's fully optioned out V6 with Track Package.

I say. If you are 100% sure you want a V6 powered sports coupe. Dont get a Ford or a Chevy.

It's a unlikely scenario, who would spend 33k+ on a v6 mustang? But I guess at that price point the genesis is better for the money.....

For having the power and handling of the Genesis 3.8 I hardly see them on the road. I can go months on end and never come across one. Very nice looking car, impressive power and track numbers but really a very different car than a mustang. The Genesis is more on the lines of competition with the 370 Z. While the mustang is a sports like car by definition, its a pony car that has straight line power. The mustang is not designed to corner on rails, its a raw, sexy, american muscle car. Muscle cars were not designed to corner amazing and be an awesome handling car. Its supposed to have raw straight line power.

There is no more car on the roadways than the American Ford mustang. Its legendary, iconic, sexy, fast, affordable , most modded car on the planet. There is a reason why you see so many mustangs on the roadways. You don't run a particular model for 50 years and hardly sell any. The Genesis is a really nice looking car, however its no mustang.

I predict the Genesis falling into the wasteland of obscurity in a few years. (Along the lines of other little sporty "fad" cars like Celica, MR2, Mitsubishi 3000 GT, Stealth, 300ZX.)

In addition, the "kids" driving the Genesis will have matured by then, learned to funnel money into "real" investments like businesses, homes and education, maybe popped out a kid or so...lol

In essence, they will one day reminisce on days gone by and purchase a Mustang because of the deep seated tendency that had always been there.

That is pretty specific... Almost as if it has some sort of deep seated meaning to you. Most Genesis owners I know are of the older type. Yes, there are younger "bros" driving the Genesis but the same could be said about the Mustang. Except Mustang "bros" get incredibly defensive about whatever reason they chose a sixxer over the GT.

I bought my GT because it's really nice and I've been wanting a 5.0 since their recent inception. I had an order for a 11 5.0 premium in GB but due to financial reasons it didnt happen... Eventually I got what I wanted. I would still have both cars today if it weren't for the fact that I'm a family man now.

Their only defending their choice/purchase in the same way your defending your experience with the genesis.

Nah. I don't really care if somone talks smack about the Genesis. It doesn't hurt my feelings. I'm just informing the OP there are better V6 choices out there than the Mustang and Camaro... In the end it's all opinion. Hell, I don't even own that car anymore. Plus I had the top of the line model in that line up. The V6 Mustang is FAR from the top compared to the other Mustang models available.

Yes very specific to me. You got it. Lol except I was driving my SC281 in my rampant 20s. The aforementioned cars sold like hot cakes in their hay day. I chose the V6 for no other reason than "I had the choice and I liked them." My V6 has never disappointed me or my wallet once. Love that little gas sipping demon on wheels. However, I can always trade it in for a low mileage used 11-12 GT if the embarrassment becomes an issue. In some instances, the used GTs cost a lot less than a shiny new V6. I may just fit in yet!

My point exactly

Let's compare a boss to the track genesis.

Nope. Boss is a V8...

Even then the Boss isn't the pinnacle of the Mustang stable.

Ok. So you want the mustang fans to bring out the best of the best. Let's grab a 2013 cobra jet and see what can compete...

That's right, nothing.

People need to learn something. When you go into a thread asking which is better, one or the other, answer the god d@mn question. Don't rant about another option. The op doesn't care about other things besides the original two cars or he would've asked.
