2005 or Wait?

I'm definitely getting an '05 GT, blue, automatic! I've always wanted a Mustang, and now that I'm about to retire from the Navy, I'm buying an '05 for myself as a retirement present. I've driven the hand-me-downs for the last 20 years, so now it's my turn!
My first thought was to get a V-6, but then my wife says that if I'm going to bother to get a Mustang, I might as well get one with performance. Do I have a great wife or what?!?

I might just get the red/red 05 stang gt when they hit the dealers lot but I would really like to see the production convert before I buy. is ford really gonna wait to show the convertible at the 05 detroit autoshow and then they go on sale the following month?

mustangs: had a GT; had a convertible; had a stick; had a manual; had the GT stolen; been waiting 12 years for ford to deliver me to the promised land again; finally they have ! waiting for the next boss/mach 1 model to buy. i think there is a lot of pent of demand for the 05 model !!!!!

I don't like buying new model year cars the first year they come out. Especially since this car will have a lot of new technlogy that might have some bugs to work out. Plus no Cobra/SVT or special edition model will be out for th 05 model year. I want a special edition Mustang. Cobra or Shelby would be my pick.

I'll wait until summer of 2006 when my 2nd year of college is finished. Now, I'm thinking about 2005 F-150 or 2005 Mustang V6.
So, in 2006 if I could get 2005 Mustang V6 with few thousands miles for about $13,000-$14,000 that would be great. I guess that's possible. I got my current Mustang, a year old, with 3,500 miles for $14,000.
I can't really afford Mustang GT. Insurance is high, gas mileage is low, and I'm still 19 years old. Mustang GT is just too much.

Financially I can't get an 05 unless I sell my 98 vert. While that is tempting (I nearly did it for a 04 Mach1), the 98 is the car my wife drives around, so if I sell it, she would want to drive the new one... a LOT!
So I'll wait for a special edition - maybe I can afford to buy it outright by then.

getting my 05 GT now, maybe in 4 years after it's paid off I still haven't decided to mod or buy SVT, I've always been a fan of doing it myself, and a lil help from friends. It's amazing what amount of work can be done over pizza and a case of beer.
