Beleave it or not today I finally got to drive a V8 Mustang, my dad's 93 LX. I couldnt beleave the power in it. I Just wish I could get one.

One thing is for sure now, ILL NEVER LOVE FOUR BANGER!!!!!!

Driving them is a lot different then riding. I knew that think had a lot of power in it when I was just riding but you get to drive one it just feels like the car has a lot more toruqe and horses in it.

Yes they are. Next try a 99 and up 4.6L GT. That'll even be more amazing.

True. Even my 95 GT gets up and goes. I can just imagine what the new Mustang GT feels like. I haven't driven one yet but I hope to do so soon.

The 4.6 just feels like it pulls all the way through the band and doesn't let up.

I floored it from 45 one time and it hit 100 plus in no time, I don't suggest trying this though

The 5.0's have a more torquey (if that is a word) feeling down low, but in stock form seem to fizzle off above 4250 - 4500 rpms or so.

The 96-98 4.6's leave alot to be desired as they dont have that low torque, and they run out of air in upper rpms just like the 5.0's do.

The 99+ 4.6's are fun to drive cars, as they pull decent from the bottom, but breathe better up top.

The 05's have a really nice feel to them, although I didnt get to wind out the one I drove as much as I wanted to as it was raining.

If you absolutely, positively want to fall in love, plant the right hand pedal on an 03 - 04 cobra. Awesome power down low, and just keeps getting better as you climb the rpm band. Hands down, they blow every other STOCK mustang in the last 20 years or so out of the water. With maybe the exception of the r models, since I havent driven any of those.

Now the 07 cobras, I firmly believe they will be a true driving expieriance. With the better handling of the 05 chassis and suspension combined with improved low end torque and more power compared to the 03's, I am sure they will be nothing short of amazing to drive.

I used to own a 5.0 LX in highschool. That was a fun car. But it doesn't compare to the acceleration and handling of the S197 4.6L.

5.0's are surprising, they'll go sideways easy. I've been in a Roush with a 5.0, it was a 95 i think. It had 650 horses easy, and it kept begging for more even though the new air system hadn't been calibrated with the engine or something like that.

Yea, the 94 95 5.0s are better about not doing it, but a fox will kick to the side pretty easy. However, in stock form it is nothing that cant be controlled once you learn how to drive the car. My first fox was definiltey a learning curve from the 4 bangers I learned to drive on, and it came out from under me once or twice. However, both accounts were due to me giving it a bit too much gas at the wrong time. I guess after driving v8 mustangs for a few years, you get use to the stock power they have. The combination of a light rearend, decent power and torque, and inexpieriance can definiltey prove interesting though.

Other than my 3.8L I never drove another Mustang. I always wanted to try 5.0L. But some vehicles I drove just don't feel like they're offering. For example, Lincoln Navigator just doesn't feel like 300 hp, it feels like a lot less. On the other hand, my Camry with 188 hp feels like a lot more than that. I could easy beat my Intrepid with 214 hp.

The exhaust sound alone coming out of a 5.0 is reason enough to like it over the 4.6's

I used to think that but the 4.6's are very throaty too. My 4.6 stock sounds very close to my 87 5.0 stock to me. You really won't notice that much difference, at least I don't.

I must say I was not a 281 fan until I drove one. They really pull all the way through the powerband and just keep pulling. I can only imagine what the 3 valve 281's are like.

I rode in a 98 GT with the 2v 4.6L and I didnt think it was as impressive as the 5.0. Ours is beffed up a little bit but I still out does that 4.6L even though its unfair comp. since the 4.6 was stock. It just didnt seem to have nay power when you tromped it.

You have to remeber though, the 98 4.6 2 valves were only putting out 225 hp compared to the 99's which were putting out 260 hp
