I feel terrible. My 6 1/2 year old male Pomeranian had knee surgery today. He has patellar luxation. He is in a great deal of pain and looks more dead than alive. He screams if he thinks you are about to touch him. He shifted into an awkward position earlier and I moved him to something that seemed better. He yelped and cried a lot. It will be hours before he can have anything for pain. He only weighs 5 1/2 lbs. and he looks so tiny right now. Poms don't take anesthesia well, so you try not to overdo it. The vet said he started to wake up and fight the anesthesia while he was being sutured. Ouch! Poor thing. And to make things worse, his left knee has to be fixed in a month or so. Sorry to be depressing, just thought I'd share.
Any good, happy news out there in Mustangland?
PS stick to Labs or mixed breeds, they're not as much trouble.

No not depressing well it's sad but I sure feel for anybody or any animal ie pet that would be in pain , It's so hard to not be able to do a **** thing , But as long as they KNOW you LOVE them I think that most certainly will help a lot ! I will pray for the little guy! ed

Thanks for the prayers and kind words. He no longer looks 1/2 dead, but can't really get around yet. Researching this on the net leads me to believe he has a long recovery. He knows he's loved, but I bet he's ticked at me for driving him to the vet! He probably won't go near the Stang again!
Now,back to light hearted humor and quirky observations!

My beagle had a problem with her disk once. She yelped everytime I tried to touch her. When I took her to the vet, he gave her some kind of shot, (I think steroids??) in the back and she was much better soon. Hope your little guy gets better!

It's been pretty good for me here! The weather is absolutley beautiful!! It's in the upper 60s, and it's gonna be in the upper 70s this weekend!! It's amazing how fast the weather can turn around. It was in the 30s just a couple weeks ago, and now it's gonna be almost 80! Plus there isn't a cloud in the sky!

Any pics?!!! I am a huge fan of cats, or at least mine! Some people say animals can't love, and have no personality! They obviously have never owned a pet before! Cause mine has almost a human-like personality, and she DOES love me very much! When I'm feeling sad, she always comes up to me and makes me feel better. That's what love IS! Sorry to go sorta of topic!

Here's my baby (.) opening her christmas presents. She looks kinda crazed though! Too much excitment!

So sorry to hear about your cat! I've had tons of pets die in the past from some very trajic events, so I know how you feel. Hope your cat starts acting like herself!

Sorry about the kitten. Is your cat a first time mom? Sometimes they don't know what to do. We had a cat abandon a litter from the start,we tried bottle feeding, but none survived. Same thing happened with a first time mom rabbit we had. Hope the other kittens are fine.
