I drove the 05 4 days ago. Since then she's been all cleaned up and just waiting for a nice day. Problem is-there are no nice days in the 7 day forcast! I've worked on her a little each day. My fear is that when it does stop raining, the love bugs will show up! My neighbors think I'm nuts! In a 10 day stretch I washed her 3 times!

You're not nuts! You're just passionate! I've only listened to a cd once in my stang! I usually listen to the radio, but I've been having problems with it lately! It likes to cut-out when I turn it up above 16! I'm also dying for an mp3 player w/ fm radio! I'm listening to my hand-sized shortwave radio right now, and it has "manual tuning"!!

Oh, and I've been to the desert several times! I used to go to Pheonix when I was little, and I love the Badlands in SD! (kinda desert in the summer)

Well, misery loves company and today I saw a love bug hanging out by the garage. Can't drive in the rain OR during a love bug outbreak if at all possible. Snow would be a no-no too, thankfully it almost never happens here. Be careful!

Plecia Nearctica, love bug, march fly. They are black with orange colored heads and they fly around in swarms, committing suicide on cars in great numbers. They can look like a low black cloud over the road. A real pain to remove from the front grill of the 05! Keeping her Zaino'ed helps to remove them more easily.
They are called love bugs because they fly around paired up.

oh I see when I had my Cougar I used to use Pam veggie spray on the front bumper Crome and the Grass Hoppers & such would wipe off I even tried on paint with no side effects , but one really has to try a test area first as heat & such could cause it to bubble maybe ?

I've never heard of using Pam. The Zaino really does seem to help. The bugs just don't seem to "stick" as well. Of course, you really need to wash them off ASAP.

Well when I built bridges my neighbor who's hubby saved my bacon when I was changing a motor in my van when I was popping the drive shaft I forgot to block the wheel and If he wasn't there I'd be DEAD and as it was rolling he grabbed my legs and Yanked so I owe my life to him well the Mrs as he's passed away now, ANYWAY she got tired of me cleaning the bugs off the bumper so oneday after I washed it all up she came out with a can of Pam and sprayed away, then told me how it should help & it did !
I told this to my local Ford parts manager and she said that some race car drivers use it as well ( not sure if true ) but she also added when they spend big bucks on paint they want to protect it & all.
Now I feel the need , the need to go wash my car.

Wish I could wash my car, but IT'S SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Stang looks like crap, all covered in road spray, salt, and mud!
I'd be kinda scared to put pam on my car. With my luck, my paint would bubble up! Oh, the only love bug I've ever heard of was a VW!

I guess if Pam keeps eggs from sticking,it should keep bugs from sticking!
Do you not get love bugs where you live, or do you call them by another name?

Zaino is mostly found only on the net. I think they may sell it in a few places, but not in stores or parts vendors. (I think some individuals sell it,not sure how it works.)Shipping is fast, just a couple/few days. It may be different for you because of your location. They usually have pretty good email support if you have trouble using the product. Their website is very informative.

Smaller than horseflies we see around here.

I can't tell you how many horseflies and deerflies we have here during the early summer. Whenever I drive up the driveway, they circle the car in massive swarms. What they like to do most is circle your head until you get so mad that you jump in the pool with your clothes on!!! They like to crawl into your hair and bite really, really hard! There are some days that you can't even go outside they are so bad and downright annoying!
