We have a behavior chart... but you cant have 20 students get up and flip their circle if they're discussing the work. The problem was seperating the ones talking about lunch and the ones talking about lunch.
3 tips i got from the master teacher and my supervisor:
1. Walk around a lot more
2. Don't give them too much time for each problem
3. Have a hand signal when you want their attention.

lmao. make sure to throw in car word problems all the time.
"billy has a 3000lb camaro with 350hp that runs a 14.2 1/4 mile. if Jimmy has a 3100hp mustang with 368hp can he beat billy? show your work"

Oh I had a teach from England in grade one , and if you were dissin her you were to kneel in the corner with arms extended with books in each hand , now if thouse arms lowered "WACK !" out came her yard stick across the forarm, funny thing she lives where I do now, seen her one day and through a name at here , should have seen the look she could not remenber until I said I was the kid that got sick with pheumonia and hurled everywhere and was in hospital for 3 weeks. Oh the teacher I do miss when they had thoses powers , kept us in line it did !

My pet peeve(besides liars) are people who take things off of my desk and don't return 'em. I need to go find my pen...again. Makes me want to...well...punch someone in the face.
