What happened to this site?
So I've been a member of the 05 Mustang Forum since Dec. of 2004 and I'm a bit curious, what the hell happened to this site?? I was away for 3 weeks or so taking my law school finals (Thank God that's over) and I come back and the site is all changed up and there seems to be no one left on the site, or maybe I'm just in the wrong spot. I even posted a topic here about trying to find some black rims for my car, and I don't even see that the site posted my new topic... what gives?? What happened here??

We overwhelmed the last software ( and server I think ). Brad got a new company to host the site ( I think, but that part may have happened before your hiatus )and new forum software. It is slowly coming back to normal. This SHOULD take care of a lot of the issues the site was having.
Brad corrected this in a later post, but I did not want the wrong info left here without a retraction---Host NOT the issue I misread, or the memory is going...sigh.

It seems like every time we go down, we lose a bunch of folks. I have seen more and more on sister sites. The biggest loss is the install History of how to do stuff. There was so much knowledge of doing stuff in the garage that is lost. I cut and pasted some of it after the initial problems we were having.
I hope we can get every one back on board. Us older members who have done tasks, lets make sure we can help out the newby 2007 owners on how to do stuff at home and save some money.

We're still with the same great host. The problem wasn't them, it was that the forum software couldn't handle 12,000 users.
The problem now is that the import tool used to pull everything from the old forums doesn't decrypt the old passwords, so most people can't log in. Scott and I are resetting passwords one-by-one as requests come in.

It's still the same good ol mustang source, but just a little different as stated already. Just take the time to update everything you once had before and it'll all feel like "normal" again. Brad was very quick with reseting my password, so all is good for me now.

the only thing I don't like now is the senior member jumbo stuff, we used to have V6, GT, Cobra, Shelby, etc. and so on, what happened to all of that?

We could've kept the forums down for a week and gotten all of the little things like member ranks and stuff working, but we decided to have as little downtime as possible and get the boards up and running just as quick as we could.

Just because some would be disapointed for some down time is no real reason to run off angry, Take the time to get stuff done around the home and to give those Pony's a good run or whatever Like a great food at your favorite place I hardly change unless it went real bad and if they closed for a week for family reasons I'd still be a patron. these just examples of not to give up on a Good Thing !
