WAIT 5 SECONDS before new search

I'm getting the message often and never used to. Not happening on other forums, just here so I doubt it is my computer. No big deal waiting 5 seconds every time I click on something but I'd rather not have to. It isn't a search per se but hitting a new topic, like going from Road Trips or Politics to Mustang Chat as an example.

I Have Not Seen This But will Keep on The Lookout For It. Most of My Searches are Drop down From Tools in Red Bar on Top of Forum To Live Feed, Which Shows Currently Active Threads. Maybe Some Server Issues at Mothership are Slowing Things!

If Anybody Else is Experiencing This LMK & I Will ask About it At Mother Ship.

But, You Have To Explain Every Little Step Which Got You That Message ! Then We Can Try & Duplicate!

Oh, Can You Cut & Paste Message????? or Screen Print??? or Take a Pic????

yeah I have been getting this lately also -- and it seems to happen almost every time I do a search, regardless of whether I have already done a search .... it seems to be taking everything as a "search"

maybe the change from one forum to another is handled as a "search" within the system?

like when I come to the site, the first thing I do is click on "New Posts" and then I get this "wait five seconds" thing, when I haven't done any prior search

Thanks for letting us know about this. We're investigating the issue, but to help us isolate potential causes, can you please let me know what browser and device you're each using when you encounter the message?

Thanks!

I'm In Firefox And Have Not Got The Message But The Avatar Area is Much Larger & The Fonts are Bold. The Light Blue Box is 2x3 Inches and I Guess 50% Larger. I Tried in Brave and it Looked The Same. I am on a Pc in Windows 10.

Yes, those changes are intentional. We're in the process of upgrading how we display information next to posts as part of the rollout of a new badge system, which will allow us to highlight everyone's individual achievements in the community. More to come!

it seems that every time you do a search, it gives "you must wait 5 seconds" even if you left the site sitting idle for five minutes before the search (which is what I just did)

the first time I click "new posts" it says you must wait five seconds, no matter how long it has been since the prior search; then if you wait at least 5 seconds, it will work .... come back a few minutes later, like after viewing a thread or two, and this cycle repeats

I am using Duck Duck Go browser and have not tested with any other browser

PS/Confirming: after I wrote this post, and posted it; which took a few minutes; I clicked "New Posts" and it did it again

I just tried Edge browser and it is doing the same thing

I go to themustangsource.com and then, without doing anything else, click on "New Posts" and I get the "you must wait 5 seconds between searches" message

my work-around for this issue:
1) open the site as normal
2) click "New Posts" and get the error message
3) wait at least 5 seconds (but not too long, because if you wait too long, it will do it again)
4) click "New Posts"

Appreciate the additional information, everyone! Our tech team is now investigating the issue and we hope to have a fix out soon. In the interim, Bert's workaround should do the trick andsorry for the inconvenience needing to do it may cause.

I can Not Duplicate The Issue. Location May Have Something to Do With It. I Assume Servers are in California? So Am I!

If You Are On Within a 24 Hour Period of Last Activity of a Thread The Live Feed From The Tool Drop Down Menu Will Show You Any New Activity You Have Not viewed. It's My Go To When I Am In Here.

See if You get a Wait Message There!
