New posts or todays posts

It seems if I click on new posts I don't get to see all the new posts, same thing if I click on todays posts. How do they work?
I usally visit tms everyday so I figure if I click on new posts I should see all the posts since my last visit??

Im about to do a forum upgrade shortly. HOpefully some of the problems we've been seeing will be corrected.

So like this thread will not show up for me when I click new posts? Yours was a new post since my last visit but it didn't show up. I had to find it by searching for it.

It's always worked fine for me... as far as I know... I don't browse the forums any other way.

I have a question, and maybe this is part of the problem...

If you click New Posts, read page one, reply to some, etc... Then read page 2, then 3, and after 15 minutes of reading you click Mark Forum Read... then what happens if during that 15 minutes someone replied to a thread that was on page one? If you check back later in the day and click New Posts, will that person's reply show since you never read it? Or will in not show because you clicked Mark Forums Read after they had posted?

Know what I mean? - I don't know how to describe it any other way.
