You could have just reregistered with your old user name if it was deleted, thats what I did.

i was going to..but the old name was a reflection of the old car. Before the crash I had asked if i could change the name and not lose the post of post-count that i already had..then the system crashed...... coincidence??? i think not!!!

And as much as you think, i doubt that the hacker that crashed the site was trying to stop you from changing your user name.
