Kinda had it with the ads.

There is an ad, Subaru of Plano, that constantly, if one simply 'touches' it with the cursor, will cover up the messages with its **LOOK AT THESE CARS** overlapping window.

Highly annoyed by this, I put a demand message up.

I deleted it, though, and put this in instead. I was having trouble getting to the opt out, as the one at AdChoices didn't seem to be working. Further going to the actual 'in command of that ad' site showed an opt out that, I guess, worked.

Still, I'd really like to put in my vote that any banner ad that does this nefarious action of covering up the content of the website beyond it's banner is just... wrong, and shouldn't be tolerated by us, the denziens, nor the mods or owners.

So... I dunno if this needs to stay or needs to go. Whatever, I'm at peace with this posting now.

Oh, and I don't have any problem with ads, except this type. Ads make the site go, and I click on them now and again to see what's up at, oh, Newegg, or Microsoft, or whatever catches my eye and I figure it's worth the click for y'all, and maybe I might see something I want/need to know.

So... there ya go. Thanks.

I know exactly which ad you're talking about. Just moving my cursor across the screen would make it cover the entire window. They're worse than pop up windows.

Update: The opt out from The Collective isn't working. Another piece of that puzzle, Mods.

Got that Plano ad, got the cover up, went there and re-opted out. I bet it doesn't stick.

If it doesn't, NOTHING from The Collective is coming to my computers ever again. Home or work. For any site whatseover, not just this one.

And I have 300+ computers I can make 'em quit on. I hope you let them know that.

Not a threat. A simple fact. They should stop, and stop it now. Or I'll stop it myself, the harsher way.

Thanks in advance, Mods, y'all are the best, and I know it's not y'alls fault. But I gotta tell ya anyway.

Definitely a fan of Ad Block Plus on Firefox. It may not be the ultimate solution, but it definitely helps.

I am not a fan of that service. I get it, but really, all you're doing is stopping sites like this from staying around.

I don't mind the banners. I mind if they're intrusive. THAT ticks me off.

/Well, that, and infected banners, which thankfully, I don't get from here.
//People at work wander too much.
///Probably says something about their work not being enough of it, but that's not my issue.

An entire pop-up window only takes half a second to go away...that doesn't mean I want it there at all. By itself maybe it wouldn't be a big deal. But I constantly have issues with ads/posts/other stupid changes by the new or newer owners, so altogether it makes it a big deal.

On the ad stuff, is theres one thats blocking or taking up alot of the page, then get me the link for it, like as you see the ad, right click, copy url or whatever and send it to me or paste it here. We can get it addressed.

Will do, Scott, and thanks. I don't, by the way, have an issue with that other pop up, that makes sense.
