just bought an 07GT500 with 23K miles. THe tires are nitto 555G2 the date code says they are from april 2018 so almost 6 years old but tread is like new car must have sat alot. So im hearing too much road noise and I think it might be the tires, the rears mostly. Any one running nittos are they really noisy? just bought anerican muscle FR500 chrome wheels to put on. 9s and 10s. stock wheels are 4 sale. ordered 4 michelin pilot sport 4S love them on my C4S.

I also had the Nitto NT555 G2's in 275/35/20" on my 2006 GT and can also confirm they were very noisy... I ran them for less than a year and then made the switch to Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's... Haven't looked back ever since.

How was the traction with Nittos? Mine were poor when new and got downright horrible as they aged. At one point, I didn't drive the car in the rain because it slid all over the place.

In warm/dry road conditions, traction was okay, but still could've been better... In wet/road conditions, traction was poor even when still new... After just that one experience, I didn't take the risk again with driving in rainy conditions out of fear of losing control from potential sliding..
IMHO, the Nitto G2's may be suitable for use on the track in a controlled environment, but for daily driving/street usage? I would not recommend Nitto NT555 G2 tires whatsoever... Also, as previously mentioned, I made the switch to Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires in less than one year after running the Nitto G2's... Needless to say, the difference in both traction and road noise are like night and day.
295 is a bit on the wide side for those 9.5" wide wheels, I think I would look for 285 for my next set of rear tires, if it was my car ... check the door jamb sticker for the original tire size and stay close to that
From the choices on Tire Rack I would go with the Michelin PS4's. They are one of the best street tires
... for sure; but they are also one of the most expensive; I think many people look at Nitto and Firestone as lower cost options that work almost as well, especially for normal street driving you probably can't tell the difference (except for noise and maybe road harshness)

@jmf I currently run Firestone Firehawk 275/40/18" as a square setup paired with OEM Shelby GT500 wheels in 18x9.5" diameter on all 4 corners... With the Nitto's, I ran 275/35/20's also as a square setup on all 4 corners paired with 20x9.5" diameter wheels w/45mm offset.
I don't have the money to spend on expensive tires so I replaced the Nittos with Falken FK510's in 275/35/20s. So far, I'm very pleased with them. FAR better than the Nittos for sure.
