New member from Rockaway NJ saying hello

Wow, what a wild 10 months it's been....I turn 62 in Aug, retired in April, in the middle of a divorce, and I just scored a new mistress. Yup, sitting in my garage is a brand dandy new 2014 GT Premium Convertible, and if you hadn't figured out by my screen name, it's black black black. Got the 401A with Cashmere, 19" 5 spokes, comfort package, and the 6 speed stick. I picked it up 2 days ago.

It's my first Mustang, first black car, and first convertible. Been wanting a Mustang since '64. If I didn't pull the trigger now, I might never have done it. Got a great deal from a great dealer in Pennyslvania.

No offense to those of you who are planning on the '15, but it just doesn't give me the warm fuzzies. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Too bad the weather won't be cooperating for drop top driving over the next few days. It won't be my daily driver, but I guess I will have to make a career out of keeping it cleaned and detailed. Gave it a quick wash earlier after two days....Jersey pollen + black car = gobs of work (the fun kind).

Anyway, I'm proud to be a new Mustang owner, glad to be a member of this forum, and as soon as I figure out how to post pics, I'll send some along.

Tom

No, you are certainly not alone. The '15s are starting to grow on me a little, especially now that I know pricing and standard features, but I stressed out big time trying to get my '14 before they turned the factory over.

Thank you Don

I know H'town well....lived there from 82-95. I was the house DJ for 6 years during that time at The Still, now Pub 517. My favorite restaraunt is Mama's and I go there often, mostly in the spring and summer for al fresco dining.

Weather permitting I'll be headed to your cruise nite next Thursday. I'll track you down...a black and red Shelby shouldn't be too hard to spot!!!

No pics....no camera, but my salesman took a bunch and sent them to me. They're too big to post though and I don't know how to re-size them.

I got my GT at Ray Price Stroud Ford in Pennsylvania....they had a sister to yours on the floor, a used 2011 Shelby convertible, same red stripes, and with red seat inserts. The sales manager did his best to talk me into it, but at 50K, it was just a tad over budget!!!!

Looking forward to meeting you..
The Thursday cruise has been rained out the last 2 weeks, if the weather is good this week, I would expect a lot of cars.
I know the flyer says 5 to 9, but cars start showing up in the main lot around 3:30. ( I work this cruise & am usually there by 3 )
If you can free up your social calendar, come early. $ 5.00 for a dash plaque & it's good for the season.
