New Guy From Oklahoma and Afghanistan
Hello all and thanks for having me here.
25 year Army Vet, and currently in Afghanistan as a contractor.
The Wife said I could have a Boss 302 if I stuck around here for a few years.
Anyway, I found a 2012 Race Red 302 last year with 3400 miles on it, with the Track Key already complete.
I would REALLY like to find the original owner and get the owners package from him, but my being over here, has made a bit difficult.
Anyway, I am looking forward to being on here. It is my first Mustang since 1978, ('67 Coupe), so I am looking forward to driving it one of these days.
Take care

Be safe over there and I just might see you soon depending on where you are. Post the number of your car and someone might know who originally bought it. Heck, they might even be in here. Drink some Green Bean for me.

I am such a dork-
I was only home for two weeks in April and did not get the number....Even though I meant to. I will get it in September.
Thanks for the advice.
As for the Green Bean.............
I miss it from being in Kandahar last year.
Now I am up at Camp Morehead outside of Kabul. No Green Bean or even an American PX for that matter.
If you end up in the area, drop me a line.
Thanks again for the Serial # idea. That would be AWESOME to get the packet from the original owner.

That is quite a spread in time. I ordered a 2014 Black GT 500 for my lovely spouse. It is our first Mustang since a black 66 289 Mustang bought in 1966. This spans 48 model years. We may have everyone covered when it comes to this stat.

Flyford, it is honestly hard for me to believe it has taken me this long to get another Mustang. There have been so many good one's over the years.
My Father, God Rest His Soul, took me to Laguna Seca to watch the races in 1970, and I never forgot about it.
When I heard there was going to be a BOSS in 2012, I just knew it was going to be my destiny to own one someday.
I have only put about 25 miles on it since the purchase last year, so now it has a whole 3436 on it before going into storage. My wife was good enough to get the guys to open up and get my build number for me.
The quest continues for the Owner kit

Crap , SeaPig if you get home in September you need to come up to Hastings, Nebraska for the Mustang/Ford Roundup. Best thing for you and I is there will be 30-40 new Boss 302s there ( probably close to 100+ Mustangs and Fords ). Ford Engineers that worked on the Boss do a Tech Talk on Friday. After Afghanistan, you will need some fun track time in the Boss and be happy to help you out -- couple beers on me too.
Check out www.racemph.com and go to the schedule.

Thank You for the Invite Bill. That sounds like so much fun. Linda has me "Gainfully Employed" for the full 3 weeks that I am home though. Then it is back over here for 6 months, and the Hasta-La-Vista baby to Afghanistan in March of 2014.
Is this something that runs every year? I just looked it up. Hastings is only about 7 hours away.

When you said Camp Morehead, I didn't realize that they changed the name of Camp Commando. (Google is my friend)
There is an amusement park near there, complete with a 9 hole golf course and horses for rent. (If I'm thinking of the same place.)

Camp Commando is still there consisting of the 6th Special Operations Kandak, (Commandos), the Garrison Support Unit, (GSU), The School of Excellence, (SOE), and the Afghan National Army, Special Operations Command, (ANASOC Division).
Camp Morehead is just the little place on the hill where the ISAF troops, and us contractors are located.

Well , if momma lets you have any break , try and sneak over Friday and Saturday , and dust out Sunday morning. So far it has been an annual event and I imagine it will continue, as every year more folks here about it , and it is not common to have a slew of Ford Engineers show up at many events in the Midwest.
Thanks for all your service and both military and civilian -- much appreciated!

Yea I wish-
Momma will have me gainfully employed with "Honey Do's" most of the time I am home.
I did work out getting a lift for one day to do my cut-outs. So that is going to be a good time. I will probably scare the dogs the first time I open those bad boys up with the remote though. HA!

Hey NICE RIDE! Looks like I am not the only guy coming back. I let my original Stang go back in 78, a 67 390 Fastback. Just finally getting back after wanting another one all those years. But I saw that others have waited longer. Glad I don't have too much more. Have a SGM GT Premium on order, can't wait.
Keep your head down over there. Thanks for your service. Best luck finding your cars original owner.
