Yea .. i miss the MPG of the V6 .. and the NTT going north every afternoon is hell on my left leg ... but i am glad i did it ...
i got the car with 1700 miles on it .. i have put about 2300 on it .. and i love it ... my first standard as well .. which was fun driving off the lot ... i do have a motorcycle so i was familiar with the idea of a standard trans .. but my first time driving one was off the lot in the 12 GT ..

Welcome to TMS! ...and enjoy Dallas. It's a great city. The BBQ is unreal! I used to live in Dallas and still miss the BBQ. It's far better than anything you'll find up here in the Midwest and there are places to get it all over Dallas.
Enjoy the GT too. Awesome car...and now that you have a manual, my hunch is you'll never want to go back. Having driven manuals for 10+ years now, it bugs me when I get in an auto, because you just don't have as much control of the car.
