New Boss
Hi There,
I started a small detailing company this past year and recently was asked to care for a collection of show and race 1960's and 1970's Mustangs... including the '69 Boss! So excited. My guy wants the cars to look as stock as possible... looking for any tips you're willing to give. The cars do have a clear coat and are well maintained, the paint not being too dry. He does race them, so there is wear-and-tear that way.
Is there a preferred wax for the Boss? Is it different for the 60's and 70's? I generally stick to Meguiars and Mothers...not sure if I should change it up for these older models.
Any other advice...from types of clothes to tire wax? So appreciated!

Meguiers professional line has some ok stuff, but if you're really starting a detailing "company" I would suggest looking beyond what you can find a VIP. Some products are too fancy to be cost effective to use in bulk, it's up to you to draw the line.

As far as advice; the detailing section, autogeek.net, and autotopia are great places to start.

Are you looking for a jaw dropping shine or just a nice shine? What is your experience with detailing?
I like to use paste wax. Liquid wax is alright... I used Turtle Wax products to detail my truck and it looks pretty good. If you want to use really good products I'd go with Meg's. if you are willing to spend a bit Griots Garage has high quality products. I believe there is a detailing section on this forum.
