New from Austin, TX!
Hi All
I read all the posts on here frequently but, I have never really had anything to contribute since I've left my car stock (with the exception of a Steeda CAI and Bama Tune) and I'm not the handiest guy on the planet. Time to change that! I need to start learning about my car and doing the work myself. I'm a newbie - no sugarcoating it. I figure this is the best place to learn from the experts! Hopefully, someday I can return the favor.
Back in May 2010 I was in desperate need of a new car. I had fully intended on making my way to the Toyota dealership for a 4Runner. I made the mistake(???) of stopping at the Ford dealership that happened to have a single 2011 GT on the lot (truth - I already knew they did)....drove it....end of story. Yeah, it's an automatic but, it's all I have ever driven and I was in no position to take the time (I convinced myself) to learn new things. I know that once I get this thing heavily modded, I will start wishing I could mod in a manual transmission
I finally got that 4Runner - I'm broke now but, at least I can stick the GT in my garage and start breaking stuff and (hopefully) figure out how to put it back together! Now that I am committing to doing some real mods, I can see my addiction starting already. One thing will inevitably lead to another. I hope to go straight to the suspension....we'll see how this works out.
