My dream car - a Shelby
I am now a proud owner of a car model that has been a dream since I was a young lad. I've always dreamed of owning a Shelby, but never new if it would be possible. Well, my wife told me in early July that she wanted to buy me a Mustang for my 50th birthday. We almost bought a 2012 Shelby, but didn't want to pay the price as shown on the lot. Then started looking at ordering a loaded 2013 GT Premium, but luck was with me. A series of opportunities fell in my lap, and in the end I got a 2010 GT500 Shelby in Kona Blue that was in terrific condition with only 3500 miles on it.
I live on Kodiak Island, Alaska, and bought the car in Anchorage. To get it home, I had to seize the moment after closing the deal to beat a storm and get the car on the ferry running to Kodiak less than two days later. I flew over to Anchorage, drove the car through a rain storm to get to Kenai and then Homer, and then caught the ferry out of Homer through what ended up being 10 ft seas (or more). After the 10 hour ride, I finally drove off the ferry at 9:30pm to see my wife waiting at the end of the ramp.......in the rain......to great me and my new mistress
. (My boat was the first mistress.)
I love the car! Love the color, love how well it drives, love the power, and my wife even loves going for rides. And it's only been 2 days!

Beautiful car and the best color, congrats. Never got out to Kodiak Island, but I think the Kenai peninsula is one of the most beautiful places in the US. Enjoy the new ride!

Welcome to TMS as well. Maybe you didn't know this but you're required to post pictures of your car once you make a post about getting it. I know I'm not the only one here waiting to see the pictures. I'm sure there are lots of spectacular spots to use as a background for your car pictures.
