So my friend's 16 year old son asked if he could drive my Mustang to the prom, and you should have seen his face when I said "sure"....

Of course his dad couldn't believe I was going to let a 16 year old drive my new car

Well my Mustang made it back safe and sound and the youngster said all his classmates were like :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: .......

You just have to love the appeal of this car.

That was nice of you, however, thinking back to when I was that age, let me say that I hope your car was already well broken in

Yeah, my daughter and her boyfriend took mine to the prom also. Everything was returned to me as it was when it left.

Yeah! back in 1969, my dad let me take his red 69 fastback! I think about him all the time now and say to myself, what a awesome guy he was! He is the main reason why I own a 05 Mustang GT today!
Happy Trails!!!

I am debating that...My sons prom is next Saturday and he is already begging. I think I would be a basket case till he returned.

I would have taken that cop car out (in the background) and pulled him over, just to scare him !! (After the prom of course)

Boy that is amazing - must have made his night! (and he will never forget that prom now for a whole nother reason!)

[somehow if I had been talked into doing that though, you would have found me tailing him all the way to the prom, hiding in the parking lot bushes dress like a ninja , waiting to put a poisoned blow dart into anyone who even came NEAR the parked Pony.....]

I give props to your friend's son for bringing the car back exactly as it left. I know exactly what my buddies would do if they got hold of my car, which is why I won't let them drive it.

Hey, I can take mine to prom cause its mine

But really. All you dads, try to let go for one night. Your sons probably will love the car just as much as you and not do anythign stupid with it.

My dad let me take our 03 vert to homecoming this year and I was thrilled.

Chris, you obviously really trust him but I still think that was a risky idea. I know I would not have done it.

I think it sends a great message that you value him more than the car. Great for your friend's son's self-esteem. I mean it's a great car, but after all, only a car.
