Found one, posted by someone who works at AAI. Don't think it gets much more official than that.

Hmh. The engine cover was on some prototypes, though, and their engine layout wasn't different from the production models... :\

You musta got there really early. I don't see any of the other Pony Drive cars, they were all parked where those pickups were.
Actually I got there late 7pm. There was a parade of vintage mustangs leaving as I was pulling inti the lot.

The production models have insulation under the hood.

I'm pretty sure we've got some confirmation of insulation under the hood. I haven't seen any pics either.

Handbuilts and machine builts are never quite the same. Even a 1/2" difference is enough to fit the cover.

I'm going to say it will be a Ford dealer part like the scuff plates on the current car. We will see.

I can't see there white stuff in my eyes!

Man if I owned this mustang I'd so slap those kids around who use to make fun of my Lincoln!

I'd ascend to the throne where I belong and smoke them tires infront of those lil pos escaladers and grand amers!

Called Pacifico in Philly, where the tour stoped by, and they are saying it will be an option... although i have as much confidence in that info as the Bush Admin. catchin' Bin Laden
