Looking for Camera mount to film dash

I'm looking for something like this specific to my 2008 Mustang air bag seats, to film my gauges and maybe some of the road/horizon while driving. I will be using a small Canon HV20 HD Video Camera.

http://www.instructables.com/id/Head-Rest-Camera-Mount/

http://www.filmtools.com/crtwcamo.html

If anyone has any information or links to such a mount, or other solid ideas, please provide your information here.

Thanks

Thanks! I like it, I wonder if the top mount one will fit between my head and the roof?

As a matter of fact, I bet I could build one from some of my mounts and a bike helmet…

Cool
Thanks again

Excellent, thanks for the reply. Almost exactly what I want to do, without the no front license plate ticket, and I want the gauges to be able to be seen, like a drivers eye view…

Do you have some more information about the mounts you used and the parts and pieces?

There are a couple Turbo Hayabusa videos on youtube that show the road and his gauges. I’m looking for that prospective for the shift RPM’s and speeds and the boost gauge. I may end up with some type of helmet mount or shoulder mount…

Here are some detailed picts of the gear...

This is the end clamp, there are two of these one at each end that clamps on to the headrest pole.

Here is the Superclamp attached to the extendable rod.

Close up of the extendable rod and part number

Here the whole thing, check out Bogens web site or go to B & H Photo or Samy's Camera online they sell this stuff.

Here's a little vid of the front window camera mount.

do you get 5.0 Mustangs and Super fords? The latest issue I got in the mail actually has a feature article on one of these camera and bracket combos specifically designed for what you are doing...it was pretty **** cool if you're looking for either video or still pictures...its only $179.99...the quality was awesome

I'll check out those mags! The camera mount that you see on the Roush just fits the window. The mount is bigger in real life than what I imagined. The stangs windows is so slanted that the camera sits a little lower than I like. All in all it worked out well, I purchased mine directly from the UK and it worked out to $185.00 US. I want to rig something that will mount free of the window. As you may know from my video link above I got busted while drining with my "gun camera!"

I'm looking for a video system maybe using firewire cameras that I can switch on the fly. Or may a co pilot could manage this. It would be nice to do live "cutting" while driving from multiple cameras. Firewire cameras are small like a lipstick cam. I know someone makes what I am thinking about or maybe I can rig something?

This link below has some great gear check it out...
