I'm new to TMS and look forward to learning a lot. I owned a 1966 mustang coupe back in the early 70's and am now 61 years old. I have an opportunity to purchase a 1966mustang with a 289 or one with a 302. Can't remember if one is better than the other. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

 

bigger is better in my book. I don't think the 302 was stock back in 66 though

 

Welcome. Back in 66 the 289 were available . 302 not until 68. good luck with your search.
