Greetings All,
I just recently purchased a 2006 GT premium with about 60,000 miles. This is my second Mustang, the first being a 1965.
Growing up in the 1960's I remember clearly when the Mustang was introduced. I went to the unveiling ceremony at our local Ford dealership. The first Mustang in our town was white with blue interior. It was equipped with the straight 6 and a 3 speed transmission. It was purchased by our next door neighbor. Later when it was sold, it was purchased by my best friend's uncle who sold it a just few years ago.
Growing up in that era, I had many friends with first generation Mustangs. I purchased my first Mustang in the 1990's As mentioned above, it was a blue 1965 with the 4bbl 289 ci engine. I purchased it from the son of the original with only 40,000 miles. It was all stock and in beautiful condition. I sold it when my sons got to the age of getting their licenses.
One of my sons currently has a 1989 Fox body with the 5.0. He is hoping to fix it up and is hoping his dad will help in the process.
So I am interested in anyone's insights into the 2006 GT and information in the restoration of the 1989.

Welcome to TMS. I like the 2006 GTs. It was the then new 2005 style that got me wanting a Mustang. I wasn't in a position to get one until 2012 when I bought my 2013.
I had a roommate in 1991-92 who had a 1989 GT and a 1991 Thunderbird Supercoupe. Both were very nice and fast cars. I had a 1990 Probe GT at the time.
