Howdy y'all! Shopping for my pony
Hi everyone. I am a long-time FoMoCo fan and have owned 2 'stangs previously, but am currently looking for one. Been driving a 10th Anniversary Miata for about 10 years and have close to a quarter million wonderful miles on it. Unfortunately, age and spinal surgery has made its pure sport-tuned suspension too rough on this old body so I am looking for a replacement.
My last Mustang was an '89 Fox-body GT Vert and I adored it, until I bounced it off a guardrail (a couple of times) during a South Alabama downpour. It was never the same after that so I replaced it with the Miata.
Honestly, pound-for-pound and dollar-for-dollar, this Miata is the most amazing roadster I've ever driven, especially with the 6-speed, LSD and assorted other performance parts on my edition. But, I "drive it like I stole it" pretty much all the time so it is not so pretty or smooth or clean as it used to be.
I definitely need something larger and more comfortable and the S-197 has been looking good to me for a while. My big concern is that I will be paying out the nose for gas. Whatever I get, it will need to be blue (Sonic or Vista) and it will end up with dual exhaust and a CAI. I also intend to go with the SCT tuner in hopes of maximizing fuel efficiency and power.
My main problem is, the market around here (Mobile area) sucks pond water in regards to used Mustangs. I have found my dream car several times in Miami, Orlando, Cali and NY, but the airfare would make a good deal not so good. In fact, I will post a link to the one in Miami because someone on here is bound to want it, it is so sweet. (EDIT: I just read that only private listings in Marketplace. If anybody in South FL is interested, PM me for details on the Miami beauty.)
Anyway, now that I have bored everybody senseless - thanks for having me and I hope to draw on the knowledge and experience here.

My body finally convinced me to put my '07 Honda S2000 up for sale and my order for a '14 V6 Premium Convertible goes in today. Good luck with your hunt. I'm looking forward to being able to have fun and be comfortable at the same time.
