I talked to a dealer last night ( 10/24 ) and you are correct - the 2013 orders are closed. I'll probably end up ordering an early 2014 very soon - the window for ordering early 2014s will be VERY short from what he told me - and the early 2014s will be basically the same as the 2013 models. After the short run of early 2014s, production will be shut down and they'll re-tool for the 2014.5 models ( 50 year anniversary - 1964.5 to 2014.5 - kinda neat if you ask me! ). I don't know if I'll like the 2014.5 facelift, and I know I like the 2013 style, so I'm just going to go for a 2013. ( 90%+ sure ).

 

What up Ron, I didn't know you were a member on here. It is a great sight for info other stuff for our Stangs. I have thought about trading my GB Cali for a new 13 or 14 GT. I really want the Recaros and Track Apps.

 

Hi Kevin - I lurked around here for a while and decided it looked like a nice place with a lot of good information. Your car is sweet, but I can see the appeal of the Track Apps and Recaros. I'm also looking to get the glass roof, leather Recaros, Track Package ( Torsen Rear Diff, Boss 302 Radiator & Oil Cooler, Brembos w/ upgraded pads, etc. ) - in a 6 speed manual GT Premium. I need to get the order in ( it will be for a '14, as the '13 order cycle has closed ) before the short early '14 window closes. Not knowing exactly what the '14.5s will look like, I want to get an early '14.

Spread the word about my Cobra for sale!! She has to go!!

Ron, my inventory manager told me that Ford has extended the 2013 order deadline one more week and that dealer orders must be input by 10/31. As far as I know, order banks for 2014 will open 11/12. I have been told to expect only 2014 and 2015 model year designations with 2015 being way more than a facelift.

 

Thanks for the info JJZ - I just saw last night that the 2013 order period was extended. I'm curious to see how long the order banks will stay open for the 2014 models. If the 2014s are pretty much going to be the same as the 2013's I don't mind ordering a 14. Hopefully there isn't much of a price change from 13 to 14 models, and hopefully similar rebates are available on the 14's. I guess I'll know more very soon!

HOLY CRAP!! I just looked at your signature... I'm planning to order basically the same car - except a premium GT with a glass roof - and all the options you listed - in Sterling Gray! I'm about 50/50 on the spoiler delete. I'm either going that route, or getting the spoiler that comes with the backup camera ( where the image is displayed in the rear view mirror - I'm not getting the electronics package ). Be sure to post up some pics when she arrives in December!!

 

I expect that the 2014 order banks will be open for quite some time. I ordered my 2013 with the option of switching to a 2014 in case Ford offers something that I would rather have; otherwise my 2013 order is locked in.

Great color choice! My wife's MCA is NAV equipped and includes the spoiler with camera. It looks good as the camera spoiler is larger than standard but smaller than that of the GT500. I, on the other hand, have to go with the spoiler delete and I decided on a base 300A GT specifically to avoid the satellite radio antenna on the trunk lid. Just make sure that you order it exactly as you want it!
