Hello Mustang Guys and Gals
Today is a big day for me as I "pulled the trigger" and ordered a new '12 GT. The test drives were absolutely a thrill a second and I can't wait for this bad boy to arrive. The dealer says that I should expect the car in about 6 weeks.
Why this car now? Well, the nest is now empty as my youngest just went off to college last week. The days of mini vans, conversion vans, SUVs and such are now behind me and I'm really looking forward to this spectacular new ride.
This is not my first Mustang though. My first Mustang was purchased while I was in college in 1970. Yes I'm an old geezer now, but I do remember that car. It was a 1969 barf green fastback with a "bad a$$" straight six cylinder engine. It had a 3(?)spd manual transmission that could burn rubber off the line, LOL. The rear end was so light! I have fond memories of applying epoxy to the window track about every third month to keep the window from sliding down to the bottom of the door. It wasn't fast, and it wasn't great handling, but it sure was a dam* good looking car. The new Stangs really do capture the essence of those old cars.
I look forward to getting to know you all, learn from your collective experiences, and hopefully to be able to add a little info of my own on occasion.
Cheers! mdsbuc
