Greetings From the 10th Colony
Hey everyone. I'm new to the forum but not new to mustangs. My first 3 cars were first gen mustangs. I then jumped to an 83 GT with T tops and then to an 86 GT Convertible. I still have the 86 but am actively selling it off to make room for an 2005 4.0. I'm new to this generation of Mustang and have a TON of questions. This new car is going to be an ongoing project for me and my oldest son.
Looking forward to learning a lot and getting to know all of you fine peoples.
Dirk

Welcome to TMS, Dirk. Sounds like a great father & son project. Congrats on the project car. Love to see pictures and hear of the progress as it moves forward.

welcome to the forum, from Massachusetts -- one of the first few colonies????
OK, I'll bite -- what was the 10th Colony? (I'm better with my Mustang history than US history, and my Mustang history isn't great, LOL)

I will be posting pictures and questions as we go along. As for the Fox body, I really don't want to let it go but its time. I don't have the space for a project that big or the knees.... No this 05 is the way to go because its already road worthy. It would take a boatload of time and money to get the Fox to the level of the 05. I know I will regret it like I regretted letting my 65 2+2 go. But it is what it is.
The goal for this 05 is just to build a great looking Mustang. I'm not worried about power and speed. Sure I want it to get up and boogie when I step on it but the sad fact is I live in a very dense state. Building a car with uber horse power is pointless if you can't open it up and run it. So its mostly going to be exterior and interior mods with a little bit of performance. Like duel exhaust for a better sound. Maybe lower the front end for a better look... I'm not going to pretend that I can make this to be faster then a GT, Shelby or any other V8. The goal is to have fun and look good doing it
But first we need to make it solid. It currently has a tiny leak at the intake manifold. The cluster needs to have the Stepper motors replaced for the gas and tach. The previous owner installed one of those racing fuel doors and it wasn't sealed properly so there is some rust damage that needs to be taken care of.
