Well here are specs for an 04
'04 Infiniti G35 6MT
0-60 MPH: 5.9 sec.
1/4 Mile: 14.2 sec.
Top Speed: 146 MPH
Braking 70-0 MPH: 153 FT.
Skidpad: .87 g
EPA City, MPG: 20

Lower than a Mustang, but I'm sure you can still have plenty fun.
And this is with a 3.5L V6???
If so, these are great #'s.
[/b][/quote]

Excuse me lower then a Mustang? Maybe the V6 Mustang but not the GT. A Stock GT is 0-60 in 5.1 seconds and 1/4 mile in 13.5 depending on the magazine. I just looked up pricing on this G-35 it stickers for 32,400 dollars. If you are happy with your purchase then that is fine but to me I would have waited and got the GT to save the money. I would have taken the 13,000 that I would have saved getting a V6 Mustang and either banked it all or put some of it towards performance. Then the V6 Mustang would crush the Infiniti, good luck with this car. :notnice:

Not everyone purchases a car for power. What he was trying to state was the G35 is by no means slow. If I wanted the best performance for the price, I would have kept my supercharged H/C/I 5.0 Mustang.

The creature comforts are one of the main reasons I bought the car. Dual zone climate control, heated seats, nearly 0 wind noise at highway speeds, and a lot of other little things.

I personally like the G35. Would I buy one of those instead of the Stang? Not on your life. I also like the 350Z, but both of these cars are just way too small in the cockpit for my tastes.

The G35 coupe actually has more interior volume than the 05 Mustang.

Good looking car, Mark. A couple I sold a Navigator to have a Red one and they love it. My brother has a 350Z and he loves it. My take on all this is unsubscribe to the thread, that way you won't know when people post a remark and just let it die. If like you said, you got an increase in pay, then I don't blame you for buying something a little more expensive. If I could afford a newer Lincoln LS V8 I'd probably have one. Everyone has their own taste.
Now, before anyone decides to bash me for approving with his purchase, let me clue you in to something. I've driven mostly Mustangs since I started driving. My first car was a '66 Coupe and for the last 20 years all I've driven have been Mustangs. The new Mustangs are nice and I might have bought one but I like the looks of the Mach 1 better. That and the fact I knew they would not sell one on the D-Plan(Dealership employee purchase) and I got 0% financing plus D-plan on the Mach. Mark, enjoy your new ride and do like I said and walk away from this thread.

Mark reminds me of my little kid, "but daddy, but daddy, but daddy..."
Enough of the excuses man. Go out, drive and enjoy that car. Stop aggrivating the lions in THIER den. Your acting like a child that wants a madel toy that is sold out, then buys a diiferent one just to keep himself busy and boasts about it to his friends. "look what I have ..."
Dude, the more stangs you see on the road, the more your gut is going to churn. So eventually, you will end up at the dealership, trading this in for a 2006 and kicking yourself in the Derier for not waiting in the first place. When you get pics of that "06, be sure to post.

C YA!!!!

Congrats on your G35 coupe purchase. It’s a great car. If Ford hadn't given us the '05 Mustang, I would have seriously considered the G35 as my next car. It is a good performer, has lots of creature comforts, and is a great looking car (subjective opinion).

With that said, I still prefer my '05 Mustang GT. The rumbling V8, impressive performance, great looks, and price level made the Mustang too good to pass up, and the right car for me.

Both are great cars, but in reality target differing demographics. I have always been an American muscle car fan at heart, which is what always leads me to purchase Mustangs, but I can certainly appreciate a well-made vehicle from a foreign manufacturer.

I test drove a G35 coupe, along with a few other vehicles, a week before my '05 GT arrived, and it was a great driving experience. But as soon I stepped foot in my fresh off the cargo truck '05 GT, turned the ignition and took it for a test drive, I knew instantly that the '05 Stang was the right car for me.

Anyways, enjoy your new ride. You got the car that you wanted; otherwise you wouldn't have purchased it. I don't believe that any of us have settled. We each buy the car that suits our driving needs, within our budget constraints.

Congrats on the G35! I'm glad you finally found a workable deal. The G35 is tops on my list along with the GT Mustang. I know you'll enjoy it. If more car lovers in this forum would take it out for an objective test drive, they would probably walk away with very + feelings about the car, with the exception of the missing V8 sound. I'm amazed at how responsive the V6 feels in this car. Next to a Vette, its one of the nicest driving car I've ever driven.

Good luck! Maybe a Mustanng is still in your future.

Just got my 2005 Mustang GT last night (Redfire with medium parchment leather interior). I ordered it November 18, 2004 and received it March 8, 2005. The people at the dealership thought the interior color may not match, but I had already seen it at this site (thanks!), now they are all believers.
I have only driven it 30 miles, but it seems real fast.

Glad you bought a car you enjoy.

I personally think the G35 is a good looking car, maybe you should have linked to your original problems or perhaps explained your situation in more detail.

Some people like mustangs, but most people here LOVE mustangs and are not open minded to other cars. To each his own, enjoy your car and you are always welcome here.

Congrats on the G35 Mark, IMHO they are gorgeous cars. I had looked very seriously at a six speed coupe before I bought my ’03 GT, but the price delta was $10K, not including the 0% interest rate on the Mustang (another $5~$6K?). It was a little to rich for my blood, but I still think that they are amazing cars.
All that being said however, you obviously knew that by posting pictures of your new Infinity on a Mustang board, you were going to draw fire right?
Yes, I thought so… B)

Yea, I like it. Of course IMO it can't compete with a Mustang, but either way, it's a good lookin car with good performance. Congrats on your buy.

The Z and the G35 may have more interior volume, but when I sat in them, it felt cramped. Thats just me. The Zs cluster was too small for me... Thats all personal taste.

We could have afforded much more car. Thats wasnt the point of my Stang. I wanted a Stang, because I became obsessed with it when I saw the concept. One of the things I LOVE about the Stang is that owning one has nothing to do with your status in society, you own one because of it being a Stang. The love affair with an Icon.

I defintely wouldnt knock someone for owning a G35, and as I and others here have said, thats no reason to talk down to someone just for owning one.

Drive it like you stole it, and love every minute of it, thats whats important. Everything else is just noise.

... we do have logics for flaming him, but at the same time not the to extent we did. Congrats on your car, but please just post pics of your car where other enthusiasts would be. We LOVE our Mustangs, so just go to a forum where you can relate to people who LOVE their G35's. I understand you had an order placed before on a Mustang so maybe the reason for posting on here, I don't know. I'm not going to go to a G35 forum and post my stang, I would feel out of place.
