Got my car in today! *pics*
First of all congrats on the purchase of a new car, it is always an exciting experience.
With that said, I will agree with some of the people who have posted (some comments such as your car is poo, lack of *****, etc. I find pretty immature and certainly will not use). There is no doubt you have picked a nice car, but I doubt that many if any will celebrate your new car with you. Not only that this is a Mustang forum, but the fact you ordered, and didn't want to wait, and instead of taking off a dealer lot, you chose a different car says to a lot of us that you really weren't that interested in the Mustang in the first place. I could be wrong, but my take is that you saw it as a cool car, and many here see it as a cool car with an even cooler heritage. That really means a lot to people, me included.
As far as retro goes, it can really only be defined by the car, and not by the genre. The PT Cruiser, Ford Thunderbird, and VW New Beetle started with very strong sales, which since have lagged recently (less so in the caese of the VW), however, I believe the new Mustang is different. Yes it draws on many significant cues from the early Mustangs, but it is also thoroughly modern in it's own way, and certainly enjoys a much broader and more loyal fan base than the 3 above mentioned cars.
What am I getting at....I am not sure, just that, enjoy your car, ignore those who blindly hate, but don't try to make yourself and us believe that you have picked a vastly superior car to the '05 Mustang, because as you can see, it won't be warmly recieved.
If you truly are a Mustang fan, I hope you stay, there are plenty of people here who love Mustangs but don't currently drive them (me included).

So why are you here? You know that this will just inflame folks. You want to get into this crap with everyone here? Why not just move on, enjoy your new car? You know this makes you look like a troll, right? You will win no converts here, this approach will only earn you disdain. You're a better person then that, right?

You might have had better luck posting in General Car chat, and not teasing like that. You asked for it

I think tensions are too high because people are mad about not getting their cars yet or something.
Thanks for the reply

it isnt even about the tension or anxiety about getting the cars. you ordered a mustang. yeah u got screwed by ford. it happens. you praise infinity but my friend got screwed on his factory order from them when twice they delivered a car that wasnt what he ordered. IT HAPPENS! this is the real world where people and companies and organizations make mistakes. DEAL WITH IT!. you could have gotten an order from another dealer, picked one up off the lot and had the car you originally wanted. And none of this would have happend. yet you go out and get another car then post on here and expect ppl to sympathize with you and congratulate you on your purchase. This is a mustang forum. Youve gotta expect that ppl dont care about infinity or all the great or crappy things they do and say and build.

obviously the ford GT
obviously the ford GT
I originally ordered my Mustang because it fit my price. After I got my new job, my price limit increased, and it opened new options. I was settling more on the Mustang than anything else.

That's like saying I wanted to marry Brooke Burke but settled on my wife. Some things you just can't have. You, however could have had an '05 Mustang or the G35 you bought. But, you took the Infinity.

The 3.5L V6 in the Infiniti is one amazing engine (imo, one of the best V6's available)
