Just washed and cleaned up my convertible and noticed that the gas cap no longer closes flush to the body, have no idea why, is there a fix for this?

 

What year is your car? Maybe post a picture so we can see what you have going on.

Did your cap close flush before washing the car? Perhaps some dirt/debris may have somehow got stuck into either the threads or underside of the cap.. I would start by checking the cap threads, filler neck threads and underside of the cap itself
