First shoot of me and my car - be nice...(56K warning)

So, I've never done anything like this before but always kind of wanted to in the back of my mind. I've been gradually getting more and more confident with myself and since you're only 'young' once, I thought now is as good a time as any.

I also have wanted to learn how to take interesting photos: what makes a photography good or bad, lighting, positions etc, and thus started searching the internet for good photos of women, and good photos of cars, and ones that combined the two. Conclusion: most women+car photos are trashy and the women are generally scantilly clad and frankly kind of gross. So I looked more to fashion photography and tried to learn. Luckily I have a friend with a digital SLR camera who is also learning so we decided to make this a bit of a project.

A few things:
1) The night shots are on a point a shoot, the day shots (except for a couple) are using a Nikon D40. Once I can find the time, I'd like to go back with my friend to retake some of the night shots.
2) None of these are retouched.
3) This was my first stab at this, it's harder then you think to come up with ideas!

So, here ya go, my first attempt at somewhat classier version of "chicks and Mustangs" photography. Hopefully this is the start of something fun for me.

There are many more shots on my (newly updated) site rondosa.ca. I'd love to hear feedback, good or bad. Thanks all,
Kristina

PS - special thanks to Jason Seto (photographer daytime) and by bf Kyle Herder for taking the night shots on my P&S camera
PPS - for those that have seen the other thread, the hood, rear glass and decklid CAN support a person, but I was too chicken to try the roof!

For the rest, www.rondosa.ca

Very classy! I like the style of the shots, they are sexy but not overdone. Almost reminds me of a magazine style photo shoot.

Thanks for the kind words - if anyone has any ideas for photos, let me know. It was harder then I thought to think of things, I'm not used to being in front of a camera like that for so long.

HA! I am smiling in some of them I swear! I just happen to post serious-Kristina photos here I guess.

Here's one that came out overexposed but I like the look (boy was I glad my car was white that day...**** hot sun!):

I really like the Brembo's poking through the fanblades....I assume that was planned...and the initial pic on your site is the best one of you by far. Love your choice of color for the car too!

Of the ones you posted, I liked #5 the best.

We just got a new camera, and I know it can be difficult to get the right shot. There are a lot of books on how to photograph women. I was just telling my wife, I need to buy one to improve my photographic abilities.

The one applying make-up behind the wheel is a bit disturbing, let's just say I had more than a couple of potential issues with OTHER individuals engaged in that act (not saying that you were driving obviously).

But to quote "Borat"

VERY NICE!!!

oh yeah nice legs too
